Ideological signaling from European governments is making many Israeli-European alliances untenable, and it will ultimately be the continent's detriment.
The left in general refuses to even acknowledge reality. Same with the Israeli left actually. Funny they forget that the Mullahs and progressives worked together to bring down the Shah and once they succeeded the Mullahs killed all the progressives. Will they ever learn?
The left cares zip about reality. They only care about power which they lust for . Their pseudo sophistication and the Americans who drool over it are puke
When you label Israeli politicians who are on the Right as “extreme”, you're just amplifying Left-wing propaganda. We see it all the time from American legacy media: every conservative is “hard Right”. Smotrich has been helpful in establishing Jewish settlements in the territory that was offered up to “Palestinians” in a deal that the the latter utterly reneged on. Smotrich has stood for equal enforcement of existing laws. None of this is extreme unless viewed through socialist utopian, One World lenses.
People who've pledged their lives and souls to any specific ideology can't learn and don't want to learn, as learning may cast doubt upon their sacred beliefs, which can be enormously psychologically disabling (not to mention also threaten social ties and career needs), and which also explains the cognitive dissonance involved in ideological insanities like "Queers for Hamas". Their ideology has led them into this bizarre cul-de-sac and they are essentially sans agency, they just follow the path laid out for them, mostly by mimicking peers and obeying the cause du jour.
In this case, the simple truth is that Social Justice ideology has become both a passionate faith for the young, secular, deracinated children of the West while simultaneously being the official ideology of the Western global-corporate state and its professional managerial class (especially its media cos). And as SJ ideology is based on the sanctification of victims of historical (Western) stigma and as Palestinians have fashioned themselves into the Platonic Victim (poor brown oppressed victims of Western imperialist settler-colonial racism—perfectly designed to hit just about every Western liberal erogenous zone and guilt nerve), Jews necessarily have to be the Satan in this ideological framework—enemies to be attacked and ejected—unless of course they publicly disavow the Jewish state and atone for their Jewishness by converting to the new cause of Free Palestine! (Certainly sounds familiar!)
Gradually, like the proverbial boiling frog, every institution, whether cultural, political or educational that operates under the dispensation of the Social Justice faith is becoming explicitly anti-Jewish. This means the Dem Party, the New York Times and its allies, the Ivy League and most of Hollywood plus many others.
European governments are toothless paper tigers desperately trying to convince themselves they have any international influence. They’re a pathetic bunch lacking vision and decisiveness, completely alienated from their people. Their sanctimonious righteousness is a charade and Israel should say good riddance.
'Europe' is not thousands of kilometers from Tel Aviv; it is only 372 km to Nicosia. It is therefore in mutual interest not to rely too heavily on alliances with Farawayistan. It can be said of the current American administration that it is characterized by a certain capriciousness. Before you know it, Nick Fuentes could be the next American President; while the confederative structure of the EU indeed does not yield a particularly decisive and clear foreign policy but the rule of law proves to be better safeguarded than in the American Republic. With the probable accession of Ukraine to the Confederation and possibly the UK in due course, a partner with nearly 600 million inhabitants would also be a welcome counterweight for Israel against possible American meddling
Europeans are simply incapable of letting Jews live. European Jew-hatred is the ultimate systemic/institutional racism. It is beyond that. It is PATHOLOGICAL, a sickness that mentally and physically infects and destroys both the individual European and the overall society.
Israel must do the following:
1) Sever diplomatic relations with those nations where the hatred is so extreme as to make them nations no longer worth engaging. This has already been done with Ireland; but should also be done with several other nations
2) Expel most European media from Israel. They are nothing more than modern day Der Stuermer on steroids.
3) Expel European NGOs.
4) Make clear to Europeans that if they will not defend their Jews, that Israel will. If that means clandestinely sending in Israeli forces under cover, then so be it.
5) Let the present trade pact with the EU expire or announce a timetable for leaving it. Make deals with individual nations.
6) Through quiet back channels, let the Europeans know that if Israel faces extinction, the Samson Option will be applied to Europe as well as the Middle East.
Europe is a civilization that has been antisemitic in its bones — emotionally, culturally, institutionally — for a thousand years. The Holocaust wasn't an aberration. It was the logical conclusion of something that was always.
Nothing has changed. Today Europe imports populations that openly celebrate Jewish slaughter, then hides behind "complexity" when its Jews flee or get beaten in the streets. No enforcement. No consequences. No protection. Just the same ancient indifference as a result of inbred hatred.
And Israel? Every war. Every single war fought for bare survival — Europe has diplomatically, financially, and morally backed the other side. Every time.
So Israel should stop asking permission from people who have never, in a thousand years, actually wished Jews well.
Realign. Fully. Loudly. Not just defense — semiconductors, AI, cybersecurity, agriculture, medical technology, water systems. Every sector where Israeli genius currently props up European comfort. Build it with India, the Gulf states, Latin America, Southeast Asia. Compete directly. Cut Europe out systematically and methodically until its industries feel the weight of what they discarded. Put the EU out of business!
Canada is following the same script. Treat it accordingly.
Europe made its position clear across ten centuries. Israel should finally believe it.
And diaspora Jews floating through Europe eating croissants in the Marais, romanticizing the cobblestones and the café culture — wake up. The Jewish family who owned that bakery for three generations is under siege. They are preparing for forced aliyah because staying is no longer survivable. You are touring a slow-motion expulsion and calling it a vacation. Quit giving the EU your money.
Your assessment of Europe's baseline antisemitism seems spot on.
Just in case a blue wave takes the U.S. Congress soon or the Presidency next, the defensive realignment you recommend to Israel seems to be already underway. We've seen Israel buying guns and making other agreements with India.
With Europe, currently undergoing Lebanon-ization or immigration jihad, or whatever, perhaps you've found it quietly disturbing, as I have, that Israel was selling its advanced defensive systems there. Mightn't they be in a shooting war with that caliphate by 2035?
It is also clear to me that at the moment the USA is aligned with Israel although there is plenty of antisemitism here.I do believe that co-ordinating with Israel in the war against Iran is not only to protect the rest of the world against radical Islam but in effect America & President Trump are protecting Israel.Democrats (I am one of them) need to see this.
Your remark puzzles me. America joined Israel in a joint mission against Iran, which, among America's other goals, happened to be helpful to Israel. The Democratic Party sees this and hates it, tried to legislatively block the present mission, and is committed to ending any future military support for Israel. THE reason I left the Democratic Party was its anti-Israel stance (although the COVID authoritarianism of many Democrat state leaders was pretty off-putting as well).
"So much of Europe today is drifting into something narrower and more brittle: an ideological bloc that increasingly defines legitimacy through adherence to a specific leftist worldview." Not surprised at this. With all the Islamists that the Europeans have allowed to enter their countries it follows that anti-semitism has increased and politicians there are pandering to these unassimilated masses. As to the US, we should leave NATO and let the Europeans destroy themselves without our help. Two world wars are enough and the US should remove our miltary, our money, and let them defend, if that's even possible, themselves. Israel is, in my mind, a reliable partner which the other Arab states are starting, finally, to realize. Finally, if the Mad Mullahs aren't removed the entire region will continue to have to deal with their Mahdist apocalyptic insanity.
The Europeans have never treated Israel as a normal nation and Israel, by taking their insults and depredations, has never behaved like a normal country. Recent Israeli diplomatic actions against Spain are the least of it. Insult must be met with consequences. That includes recalling and expelling ambassadors as a starting point. Boycotts and other punitive actions are further options.
Europe was already anti-Israel by at least the 1970s—from its papers and journals to its governments to its arts and culture (and of course its intellectuals), they romanticized and defended every ugly hijacking, kidnapping and terrorist attack launched by the PLO and believed the fedayeen had every right to murder any Jew anywhere, as this was an authentic expression of their humiliation and helplessness. They were freedom fighters and the Israelis were the new Nazis! (You can see how much relief it gave Europeans, especially the supine French, to call Jews Nazis as a way to transfer their eternal shame and reverse perpetrator and victim.)
Europe lost most of its desire to fight after its wars of suicide (1914-1945), but just like a dirty old man who can't do the deed anymore but gets off lasciviously watching others do it, they've been cheering now for decades for the Arabs to finally do in the Jews, thinking that the humiliation of the Jews will somehow lessen their humilation and distract from their senesence and obsolescence.
They were baptized in Jewish blood and want a taste of it for their last rites too. And, no, it won't save them or their children from the Islamists...
The United States, under Trump, is also facing European alienation; not because of the US, but because Europe has proven to be an unreliable and weak bunch of "allies." Trump is thinking of leaving NATO (we should leave because NATO is useless and Turkey shouldn't even be a member!). Europe is in rapid decline and turning more and more Islamist. Good riddance.
Perhaps (who really knows?) Trump thinks China (and Russia) are the most dangerous opponents of the U.S., and therefore, he needs to keep what he can of the Muslim world on the side of the U.S. This definitely includes Turkey, which wants its large army to have a corridor through Syria to strike at Israel (so Trump recognises the ISIS guy now running Syria, ditches the Kurdish minority there who were our allies, and pulls sanctions off Syria).
Iran was a lost cause, engaged in a highly, and mutually, fulfilling relationship with its oil market and weapons contractor, China. Thus the war on Iran.
Europe, racing into its future Islamic demography, could reemerge as an American ally if it (probably lethally) sheds the red part of its dominant red-green alliance.
I agree 100 percent with what you wrote. A New Middle East is ready to take off and the Iran and her proxies are in the way. All the Abraham accords will be signed and the New Mideast will become like Dubai and the UAE, with co-existence, peace and prosperity for ALL the people of the region. Twenty-five years from now, if the Western countries (including America) don't get it together RIGHT NOW (they won't), the best places in the world to live will be in the UAE and the Middle East.
I don't really see how your vision coincides with my analysis. Trump rescued Hamas by forcing Israel into a premature ceasefire, to placate Turkey and Qatar. Hamas has arisen, phoenix-like, and reestablished its brutish hegemony over much of Gaza, under the protection of those latter 2 countries and the Bd. of Peace. Even Hesbollah has been rescued by a premature ceasefire, AGAIN, presumably because our Muslim allies would find it intolerable for an infidel state (Israel) to defeat a Muslim militia. Lebanon's army refused an order from the civilian gov't to go disarm Hesbollah, stating that it would not be in Lebanon's interest in the struggle against their common enemy. Lebanon, not actually being a sovereign state, seems to have 2 rogue militias within its borders, one publicly funded. Meanwhile, the Gulf states are not the paradise you describe, most of them consisting of a relatively small group of actual citizens living off the labor of a sea of African and Asian migrant workers whose passports have been seized and who have little if any legal protection. These states do have the virtue of opposing the Muslim Brotherhood, a Nazi-offshoot. But the Brotherhood is favored by Qatar and Turkey (and Hamas), whom Trump is broadly courting.
You don't think once Iran is neutralized, the rest--including Hamas--will also be neutralized? Iran is the "head of the snake," and the terror groups must--MUST--be neutralized in order for the New Mideast to get underway. No investments will be made until terror is sufficiently suppressed and the motivation to do that is there. I have great hopes this won't fall back into the the old ways, too much progress has been made. (Qatar will have to fall in line, too, and I think that can also be accomplished). We'll have to watch and see, I guess.
The most involved members of the Bd. of Peace have no motivation to disarm Hamas: Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar have zero interest in removing a Muslim threat from the border of "the Zionist entity". The very idea is a religious obscenity to them. Under their supervision, Hamas has continued as before, extorting, brutalizing, and recruiting from the civilian population they've indoctrinated. What progress has actually been made in disarming/ending Hamas? Well, seems like none; in fact, its going backward.
How "neutralized" do you think Trump wants to leave the IRGC in Iran? They're the ones he's chosen to continue governing. They've got the guns, and they've already shown us their three goals: maintain control of the populace, rebuild their arsenal in secret, and maintain their proxy militias abroad. Trump pulled Israel back from Iran last year. He pulled them and us back from neutralizing Iran a few weeks ago, so I don't foresee a neutralized Iran next week. Could be wrong. Maybe you're right to hope. Then Hesbollah might dry up. Or it might be absorbed into the rogue Lebanese army that refused to disarm them because they have a common enemy (Israel).
Those members of the board of peace are, believe it or not, inconsequential right now. They play both sides. The most important players--the entire UAE, and Saudi Arabia and Israel (followed by Egypt and Jordan)--are what really matters to make the New M.E. happen, and they are all aligned (disregard what they say publicly, that's to keep the parts of the populations that sympathize with Jihad from rioting right now--that will come soon enough, but they can't have that now). Saudi Arabia DETESTS Qatar and refuses to do business with them, as do several other Arab countries. And those allied countries are as motivated as Israel and Trump to move the region forward and get rid of terror and ban the ideology behind it (you know they've already done that in the UAE to astounding effect? And one UAE official last year said, "It is now safer to be a visible Jew in the UAE than it is to be a visible Jew in New York City." There are major investments already in hand and many more waiting in the wings for the New M.E. Israel, in the past two years (during a war!) has signed awesome tech deals and many major tech and space companies are signed on for a gigantic indoor/outdoor complex already being built in the desert (I think the Negev). Nvidia, yes THAT Nvidia, has invested jaw-dropping amounts in Israel and one of the bigwigs recently said, "We are 100 percent with Israel." And much much more; big plans for the entire region. I cannot believe all this money and desire and momentum to transform the entire world for the better (because it is also tied to China, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, etc) -- that they will allow this momentous opportunity that may never come again, so close at hand, to just fall back into what it was. It is too obviously insane not to, at the very least, get everything neutralized enough so that America can back away and the new allies can keep the peace.
Your comment about Smotrich and Ben Gvir is spot on.
We have lunatic right wing persons in the USGovernment in various positions and we have lunatic left wing wackos in other positions. No one suggests that American should cease to be because of this.
Give me a break please with your victim and antisemitic card... you look like a great analysts by how you adress that europe needs israel more than israel needs europe...Also, all the accusations against Pedro Sánchez all come from an organization called Clean Hands, which is a Zionist organization, and many in Spain know this.
Milei is perfection. If ever I had to choose one person who would be given lifetime leadership , it would be Milei. And I've never expressed such outrageous sentiment before.
The left in general refuses to even acknowledge reality. Same with the Israeli left actually. Funny they forget that the Mullahs and progressives worked together to bring down the Shah and once they succeeded the Mullahs killed all the progressives. Will they ever learn?

Hear hear! Especially the European NGO's, like the one funding lawfare.
