Eva, why do you hate me so much?
This essay is written as a letter to "Eva," a European girl approximately my age, on the meaning and consequences of supporting the Islamist-jihadist civilization.
Please consider supporting our mission to help everyone better understand and become smarter about the Jewish world. A gift of any amount helps keep our platform free of advertising and accessible to all.
This is a guest essay written by Tzlil Berko, an Israeli entrepreneur and writer.
Dear Eva,
You’re a European woman, I’m an Israeli woman. We’re about the same age, you’re just about to finish your master’s degree at a Russell Group University in the UK, so, congratulations! Mazal tov!
I’m working on my thesis here in Israel, on my way to a PhD someday. Maybe you can give me tips on how to not fall asleep during statistics classes, a real challenge.
We’re both educated and we were born and raised in Western societies. We like music and dancing, we like adventures, we like reading classics, we like wearing leggings not just to yoga classes, and we like cute men.
We’re so alike, so why do you call for my annihilation and destruction? Why do you call for the murder of me and my people?
Which river and which sea?
Eva, I don’t think you really mean what you say or what you’re doing when you actively support terrorism and hate crimes against Jews. I do think you’re simply uninformed and have been brainwashed.
Please, Eva, let me help you change the hateful, false conception you seem unable to give up. Let me help you escape from the prison of the false narrative you’re trapped into; it’s poisoning and rotting your soul.
You’re very intelligent, and completely unlike the evil forces you support. I’m going to present you with genuine facts so you can think rationally and critically, rather than falling prey to distortions, falsehoods and “alternative facts.” You’ve been fed lies by people who aren’t like us, not you and not me. Let me explain and you be the judge.
First, you should know that when you demonstrate in London along with a bunch of masked useful idiots, chanting “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free!” what you’re actually doing is calling for the genocide of the entire Israeli population and inciting antisemitic violence and hate crimes. It’s like chanting “Gas all the Jews!”
Let me break it down for you: The river is not the Thames, and the sea is not the North Atlantic. It’s the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, and it means the entire State of Israel. Whoever chants it wants to press Delete to eliminate all the Israelis living in Israel, me, my family, all of us, right now. Delete the Israelis and replace them with Palestinians; it means throwing all Israelis into the sea you chant about.
Do the math: Jewish sovereignty in the land of Israel preceded the arrival of Muslim Arab tribes by more than 1,500 years.
Now I can hear you say: It’s uncool to chant for genocide, but (as if a moral “but” existed when you call for the mass-murder of an entire population) the Palestinians deserve to return to their land. I’m sorry to shatter yet another myth, the one that claims the Palestinians were here, in the Land of Israel, before the Jews.
No history lesson, I promise — just a simple, factual timeline. Please Google it if you have your doubts and you can check the New Testament as well.
Judaism came first, then came Christianity (I’m sure you know Jesus himself was a Jew), and about 600 years later Islam was born. Jews came from Judea; that’s why we’re called Jews. Judea was a Jewish kingdom which came into being more than 2,500 years ago, and its capital was Jerusalem. (Which is Israel’s capital city even today and the holiest place in the world. You should come visit.)
So where did the name Israel come from exactly? Israel is Jacob, who appears in the Bible; after he wrestled the Angel of God (Genesis 32:28), he was renamed Israel. That’s religious evidence.
Follow me here, please: While Jews are mentioned in each religious book of the three largest monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) — and not only mentioned, but mentioned as the rightful owners of the Land of Israel — the Palestinians aren’t, even once, because they are a very recent invention.
Not only are Palestinians not mentioned in the Qur’an, but the “sons of Israel” are mentioned many times, including in a prophecy that they will return to where they belong, their ancestral land of Israel, which was given to them by God.
Jews have been in the Land of Israel for over 3,500 years and whoever was there before the establishment of the State of Israel was, in fact, an occupier who took the land away from its rightful owners, the indigenous Jewish inhabitants. Palestinians, on the other hand, can’t even pronounce their own name, because it came from Latin, from what the Romans called “Palestina,” and there is no letter “P” in Arabic.
So, what exactly is “Palestine”?
Nearly everyone who lived in Israel before it gained independence was considered a “Palestinian,” including many “Palestinian Jews,” given that “Palestina” was the name of the region during the Roman empire.
Even Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir carried a Palestinian ID card because she was living in the British Mandate for “Palestine” at the time. If someone shows you a coin or stamp with “Palestine” on it, right above the word you will see א"י, for Eretz Yisrael, Hebrew for the “Land of Israel.”
Western civilization is at war.
Let’s ignore history for a minute and focus on the here and now because I’m extremely worried about you. I’m worried you don’t understand we’re at war, not just me, the Jewish Israeli, but you and I both.
It’s a war between completely different civilizations: ours (which is modern, pluralist, globalist, and Western) versus the barbaric, primitive, extremist, Islamist-jihadist civilization (which hates the entire free world and wants to turn it into a Taliban-style regime).
Are you familiar with Samuel Huntington, who in 1993 predicted that future wars would be fought between cultures rather than countries?
In his book, “The Clash of Civilizations,” he argued that the true conflict lies at the heart of cultural identities, meaning not only your individual identity (which is the product of the way you perceive yourself and think others perceive you), but also your upbringing as a member of an identity group.
Why is that relevant to our discussion?
You have every right to ask, and the answer is that you personally don’t understand the collective dynamic of the barbaric civilization you’re advocating for, which is the opposing team.
The team that you’re playing for in this war — supporting, demonstrating for, chanting for, and fundraising for — is against everything you and your friends are in favor of: against free speech, free rights and equality, individuality, your lifestyle, and your entire system of beliefs. You’re the disposable idiot in the war, and they use you to promote their evil anti-West ideology.
Let me give you specific examples, and check me on this, please: You’re pro-gay, but those who believe in an Islamist, jihadist culture hang men from trees just for being gay. What about a LGBT+ movement in Iran? Syria? Gaza? Name one. I’ll save you the effort, there are none. If you dare to be openly gay in one of those primitive cultures, you’re doomed.
In Tel Aviv, on the other hand, we have annual pride festivals where thousands of gays, lesbians, and transgender people from all over the world come to celebrate the LGBT+ community in festive mass celebrations. Please join our party. Heterosexuals also join to celebrate the freedom of being whoever they want to be. I think that’s far more in line with your belief system than killing all gays, don’t you agree?
What Life Is Like When You’re a Woman in the Islamic Republic of Iran
And what about women? I know you take a lot of pride for being a true feminist, you majored in gender studies, correct?
So let me explain what life is like when you’re a woman in Iran, which is the head of the anti-Western-civilization-octopus we’re dealing with here: In Iran, where radical Islamists promote polygamy, you’re one of four wives married to a bearded Ayatollah whom you were forced to marry when you were about 13 years old. (The younger the daughter when she’s married off, the more money the parents get.)
Oh, and your husband is three times your age. He’s old but, you can’t marry another man because it’s a one-way street. Only men can enjoy polygamy, you herd sheep all day and you sleep next to them at night, you don’t send your daughters to school because you’re afraid they’ll be poisoned, as many girls were between 2022 and 2023 when as many as 7,000 schoolgirls were gassed by anti-government groups while the Iranian government did nothing to stop it.
You’re covered from head to foot, and if you refuse to cover, you’re hanged on a crane in the center of Tehran, so that everyone sees what happens to women who disobey the regime.
Sex? Yeah, you hooked up with a random guy you met at a party in Italy last week. In the West, it’s something you laugh about with friends afterwards (unless he’s really good), but if you were a woman in the Islamic Republic of Iran, you’d be looking for a place to hide from your father and brother who want to kill you in an “honor killing” because you disgraced the family by being a sharmouta, a whore — even if you were raped by your uncle.
Do you understand the barbarism you’re cheering for? In Iran’s extremist Islamist society, hymen restoration surgery can save a woman’s life.
Don’t be a hypocrite.
Do you enjoy being a liberal feminist while advocating for persecuting gays, brutalism, mass-rape, polygamy, “honor killings,” and stoning a woman because of a rumor that she was unfaithful to her abusive husband? How does that coexist with your moral perception?
You don’t consider yourself a bad person, so why are you fighting so hard for a civilization that is both vile and anti-freedom? Would you like to be a woman in Iran’s Islamic Republic?
I’m willing to bet you wouldn’t.
‘Allahu Akbar’
Make no mistake, radical jihadists don’t have a God in the sense that we, you and I both, understand it. They use “Allah” to justify their brutality and barbarism against anyone who is not one of them, calling us “infidels” (you’re an infidel in the view of Iran and many Arabs as well) and all for the purpose of returning to the 7th century.
Do you know what happened then, during Islam’s violent conquests?
Please tell me, being the knowledgeable person that I know you are, give me the name of a democratic Muslim state. Just one, okay? If they stand for what you stand for, if their values are the same as yours, why don’t they exist? Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, and yet it’s Israel whose annihilation you cheer for. That puzzles me.
You know what they say, “a man is known by the company he keeps.” Who are Iran’s friends, do you know? They’re Russia, China, and North Korea — and do you know what they all have in common? They’re all anti-West totalitarian states with imperialistic goals. Given that they’re Iran’s friends and allies, what do you think Iran is? How would you describe it?
What does Iran have to do with Gaza?
And yet you argue, “That’s Iran, not Gaza, and I’m pro-Palestinian, not pro-Iran,” even after you saw what happened during the invasion from the Gaza Strip to Israel on October 7, 2023 — the terrorist attack and massacre, when babies were beheaded in their cribs, small children were tortured in front of their handcuffed parents, young women were raped and entire families were burned alive.
More than 200 Israeli citizens were kidnapped into Gaza by Hamas, among them infants and children, women and elderly Holocaust survivors. One-hundred of them are still being held there today, going through hell, and still, you don’t understand that Hamas (designated as a terrorist organization by most civilized countries) is part and parcel of the same dangerous Islamist civilization.
Israel strives to operate within the parameters of international laws of war to avoid civilian casualties, even at great risk to Israelis, whereas, by contrast, Hamas does the opposite: firing thousands of rockets at civilian communities (my home included) from behind human shields, ongoing terror attacks on civilian individuals, and of course the well-known horrors of the October 7th massacre.
You don’t believe me about the October 7th atrocities? Please, watch the videos uploaded to social media (Telegram channels, for instance) by Hamas terrorists themselves and hear the glee in their voices as they slaughter and rape young children wearing their Mickey Mouse pyjamas.
You can also watch “Bearing Witness” which contains raw footage of the atrocities and crimes against humanity of October 7th, captured by Hamas GoPro cameras. Take a tranquilizer before you watch it — it’s a horror movie — that’s my advice if you want to sleep at night. Those monsters want to do the same thing to you and your family. The Jews are the trailer for the horror movie they have planned for the West.
“But not all Palestinians are Hamas” you insist. Yet the truth is that many Gazans are no different from Hamas. Not only did they vote Hamas into power, but they also actively collaborated with them to attack Israel, which was more than evident during the October 7th massacre and today as well, when Gazan "civilians" hold and conceal Israeli hostages.
I hate to break to you, but not only the Palestinians in Gaza support Hamas, the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria do as well. They would have voted Hamas into power if Israel hadn’t interfered by repeatedly delaying the elections.
I repeat, in case you missed it the first time, they hold the same dangerous Islamist-jihadist ideology as the Islamic Republic of Iran, currently threatening our Western civilization. That’s what you’re supporting, and recognizing and acknowledging it is a vital part of returning to reality, for your own safety.
‘But the Palestinians are refugees.’
That’s what you were told by endless antisemitic media outlets, Chinese TikTok, and your professors at the university, who were bought with dirty money by terrorism-sponsoring states like Qatar. You were taught that that all Palestinians were “refugees” and entitled to return to their homes in “Palestine,” which happens to be Israel.
Well, just because someone claims that he owns something doesn’t make it true. I could claim the UK as my homeland, does it make it true? A claim doesn’t create a right, only facts can do that.
But I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and play along. Ignoring ancient history, because there was no “Palestinian nationality” at the time, the Palestinians decided they were a “people” in 1964, and the Arabs opposed and rejected the UN Partition Plan in 1948 which divided the territory of the British Mandate for Palestine between the Arabs and the Jews, when the State of Israel was formally established.
Instead of accepting the Partition Plan, the Arab countries on Israel’s borders, along with Iraq, attacked the new Jewish country, and during the ensuing war many Arabs left Israel voluntarily, having been promised they would return as soon as the Arab armies destroyed the State of Israel.
However, Israel prevailed and its enemies remained beyond its borders, to this day eternal refugees who pass their status from generation to generation, as if it was a genetic trait, with generous assistance from UNRWA1 (the financial-logistic arm of Hamas as proven recently), making the Palestinians unlike any other refugee group in the world.
From Israel’s War of Independence in 1948 to the present day, the Arabs, currently referred to as “Palestinians,” have never wanted a state next to Israel, but rather a state instead of Israel. We can’t let that happen, do you understand that?
Given that the Palestinian Islamists actively want to institute 7th-century Islamist codes, as was witnessed during the October 7th massacre, the so-called “rights of the Palestinians to self-determination” means the annihilation of Israel.
Tell me, if the Palestinians Islamists are so wonderful, why does not one of the 22 Arab states want them? Have you ever thought about that? Do you want them in Britain? Be my guest. Let’s see how it goes.
I can go on and on about Israel and the Jews, but what about Israeli Arabs? They are about 21 percent of Israel’s population, enjoy full civil and political rights, get one vote like every other citizen, and have their own political parties to represent them in the Knesset, Israel’s parliament.
We all coexist in our country, Israel, a democratic Jewish state with full citizenship and equality, but you don’t really care about that, do you? You only care about trends and that’s why you don’t seriously research the conflict.
You simply march around the streets of London shouting things you don’t understand and don’t care what they mean, like “global intifada.” Do you know what intifada means in Arabic? It means a violent uprising.
Intifada in Arabic and the contemporary cultural context means “resisting” the West with violence and terrorism, which includes suicide bombing attacks, shooting attacks, stabbings, vehicle ramming attacks, indiscriminate rape and ISIS-style beheadings — what many of the “Palestinians” have been doing for years. You saw how Al-Qaeda “resisted” in the U.S. on 9/11, right? How do you think that would look in London?
Wake up before it’s too late.
Eva, you and I both have moral values, we care about human lives, and we care about freedom. So please wake up from your wokeness before it’s too late, because when the Islamist-jihadist civilization is at your front door, it doesn’t knock, believe me.
You’re being cynically manipulated by terrorists.
Stop being herded, like a lamb to the slaughter. it’s not trendy to be an oppressed sex slave in a rape regime. Nothing is romantic about that. Nothing is moral about that. Nothing about it represents you.
Or does it?
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees, widely considered to be a tool of Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups
Thank you for publishing my article 🤩🇮🇱
Thank you for putting together such a well constructed and thorough amalgamation of facts. If only young people would read it. But they won’t because it’s more cool to hate and go along with the other ignoramuses so that they feel more secure. Truth should be taught to them in their educational forums - but as we have seen- that is not likely to happen soon since the teachers (from kindergarten and upwards in the US. Europe and other countries) have distinctly anti Israel curriculum which they are AT PRESENT forcing into young impressionable minds.
