“Some people say that Israel’s response is only generating more animosity amongst Palestinians. Naturally, these armchair commentators have no clue that Palestinian animosity towards Israel (i.e. antisemitism) was already sky-high across Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon, and so forth.”

No truer statement. Ever. I am a housewife from Manitowoc Wisconsin and understand this quite well. They will not be happy until Jews are annihilated.

They teach 4 and 5 year olds to hate Jews. Start young.

They voted for Hamas. Their whole identity is about relieving the human race of Jews.

The Palestinians have denied themselves a home, not the Jewish people. Ask Bill Clinton. And Jimmy Carter? Good man? Not so much.

Carter was an idiot. Should not have been president - southern Baptist preacher and philanthropist was his calling

Brilliant commentary! But will the world ever wake up to the reality you described so well?

NO! The Palestinians are portrayed as the underdog and everyone loves to root for the underdog.

Yes! What is wrong with the people who continue to insist that the Palestinians are innocent and want to live in peace. If there are a few if those they would welcome the chance to move somewhere they are not under Hamas rule and could get jobs and raise families with a purpose other than to kill Jews. I’ll write today about what happened at my Reform synagogue last night. You won’t be surprised but skin may still crawl as mine did.

You were on your game with this essay, Joshua. I cannot celebrate Israel enough for its patience and fortitude in dealing with the barbarism and turmoil that Hamas created. This even more so with a so called ally in the US whose "leadership" kept demanding more from Israel with thinly veiled threats that if more humanitarian aid wasn't given to the enemy, and less Palestinian civilians killed, weapons would be withheld. This being said time and time again, while continuing to say the US was Israel's ironclad ally, along with multiple 'Buts....." Here's a significant 'But,' But Israel was laser focused on one thing, the security and safety of its people and country, and they continued to forge ahead. Am Yisrael Chai.

Brilliantly stated!! And a lot of the blame goes to the media for promoting what Palestinians do and criticizing Israel for defending itself.

Bloody brilliant, thank you Joshua. I've already shared segments of your article in a post on FB, responding to some moron who complained about "proportionality". Your article covers it so well .. and then some. I credited you at the end of my response.

Good for you, I'm sick of reading FB posts by people who have Gaelic/Irish renderings of their names and how invested they are in Palestinianist exterminationist ideology and racist antisemitism.

From the article: "I honestly do not understand what the Palestinians want. It clearly is not a state, since they have been offered that by the Israelis many times before and rejected every offer so long as it depends on them recognizing Israel as a neighbor." And the answer comes later: "Martyrdom." And what holy purpose are they willing to die for? Simply: Killing Jews, destroying Israel. It is baked into their interpretation of Islam and it is such an overwhelming passion that they will sacrifice their own children to this purpose. It boggles the mind, but so did the Holocaust-- the outrageous and persistent extremes a group/country will go to just to kill Jews. It is a form of mental illness that demands its own definition and "martyrdom" doesn't quite fit the description. Perhaps simply labeling this mental virus "Jew Hate," at least for now, can suffice.

The residents of Gaza will never accept responsibility for their circumstance. Introspection is not a thought process they will engage in.

They want to continue to perpetuate the greatest welfare and terror state the world has ever seen. And hurry up about it! We need this place to be rebuilt for us. We need new schools so we may continue to teach our children to hate and kill Jews.

Concurrently their leaders will begin again to plot and prepare for the next act of barbarity against Israel.

There was not surrender.

The humanitarian aide is being diverted and used to strengthen the terror base. The exchange of prisoners is seeding the terror ranks with fresh blood and vigor to continue the goal of the destruction of Israel.

The weakness and internal disagreements within Israel have been exploited by our enemies both in Gaza and around the planet.

The great question that must be answered centers around whether or not Israel is willing to repeat this process again?

I don’t see any sympathetic states offering refuge to the Innocent victimized residents of Gaza. Why?

I feel no sympathy for the residents of Gaza they got what they wanted. Dead Jews and hostages.

Was the pice they had to pay worth it to them?

I will say that the brave grunts of the IDF showed the world what a fighting Israeli is all about.

The end game is obvious. The Palestinians gave up their right to any state on October 7th. They need to be forcibly removed from Gaza and scattered around the world. Starting a war and then losing it has serious consequences. Now they need to live with it.

Thank you Joshua for this brillant article!!!!.......you are absolutely right, in 1948 they (" Palestinians ") were offered a state, along side Israel, they rejected.....The want to keep attacking us, in our land ?.....Enough is enough.....let them be far away from us, once and for all !!!!....

Great article. Palestinian identity is a brutal combination of martyrdom and victimhood for the purpose of destroying Israel. Martyrdom reflects their direct assault on Israel and victimhood reflects their goading the rest of the world to attack Israel for them.

Love it. 100%. I'm laughing because they should be happy to have more martyrs for Allah! It is hypocritical. Another hypocrisy was pointed out by Einat Wilf in a podcast I saw recently. Everyone cries about Gaza being an open-air prison; now they're crying "look for Israel did to our beautiful Gaza." They will lie at the drop of a microphone. Except about one thing: they do not want a Jewish state to exist.
