I thought the question was whether to hold on or walk away. Judaism taught me the deeper question is whether I am willing to evolve before I try again.
NEVER EVER! The Lord Himself called Israel "MY PEOPLE." He will forever and always have His Hand on the Jewish people. The unconditional Abrahamic Covenant spells it out clearly when it begins in Gen 12:1-3. Blessings or curses, people are to choose. But then He tells us that His People will be a blessing to the whole world. And they have been in so many ways. Those who have dared to "touch the apple of His Eye," will eventually feel the wrath of the Almighty. It is written in the Hebrew Bible as well as in the end of the Christian Bible.
Although I agree with you on the main, however there is no such thing as a christian bible. The whole of the Bible is still a Jewish book, even though the New Covenant is still not recognised or acknowledged for many.

Start Reading Acts; it was the Romans who called All those who found Messiah as Saviour, whether they were Jew or gentile the name christian, as a derogatory name against them all to segregagte them from society. God Himself never gave believers of Messiah the name christians, not ever.
When Paul brought up the issue of suffering the name christian, it was in the context of, believers in Yeshua, Jesus were to suffer, being mocked, in being called christians because they believed in Who Messiah was, they were never supposed to have aligned or taken upon themselves the name christian to begin with.
All throughout the New Covenant or New Testament to yourself, not one of Yeshuas disciples called or aligned themselves with the name christian whatsoever, they always referred to themselves as followers of the way, brethren, or Nazarines, not ever christian.
It's only the christian Church, christianity which is man made that has twisted scripture to make it mean and believe in something it was never meant to be in the first place.
Jesus’/Yeshua teachings were and always were Jewish, they have never been christian, including the Commandments within the New Testament which are in fact, still the law, which has been taken to a higher standard of keeping, Not abolished and are still in effect, even now.
If only our Orthodox counterparts would read the New Testament to even discover that for themselves too, since the New Testament is the Messianic Age currently coming into its own fulfillment also. We are all still living within the Tanakh/Old Testament, as well as the New, why, because the New Covenant/Testament has not yet been fulfilled, come to completion because that won't happen until Messiahs second coming.
Gentile believers were supposed to be grafted into the vine of all that Messiah was and is, including God's first chosen.
Messiah was a Jew, His teachings were Jewish, His disciples were Jewish, who lived Torah, who ate clean, Kosher. Messiahs way of life was Torah which still is Jewish, even within the New Covenant. I long that the Christian community would have its spiritual eyes opened and stopped preaching such rubbish, just as much as I long for our Orthodox friends to have their spiritual eyes opened also, as whether anyone likes it all not, in Messiah we are all One and always will be. It is also why a Jew does not need converting to christianity, its just not possible or even necessary.
And no, I myself am not a christian either.

Many decades ago a psychologist told me that when we stick with something when we no longer should it's called "turning a virtue into a vice."
In my emails, I sign with this phrase "God doesn't make it easy. He just makes it possible."
I guess giving up would be easy. Trying again at 40 (or 52 - when I started grad school (for the third time and in a third discipline), turning it over, retaining hope for mercy, is really the only thing to do; the only way to keep on keeping on.
Without dogged persistence throughout mistakes and defeats there would be no music virtuosos, athletes, researchers, great scientists or philosophers and Abraham Lincoln would never have become President.
