What the Islamic Republic calls "diplomacy" is actually a calculated strategy of delay, deception, and escalation designed to advance power while the West debates process.
When you see how the Iranian regime slaughters its own people without hesitation, it's crystal clear that these villains will attack Israel as soon as they have nuclear weapons—after all, in their form of Islam, it's an honor to perish as martyrs together. Israel should therefore do everything in its power to free the Iranian people from their hostage-takers. Comparing with these fanatics—forget it.
I 🙏🏼 that (a) The President and his team are too smart to be sucker punched by the Iranian Regime and (b) their “dancing with the devil” is the real misdirect … a prelude to a knockout punch that will allow for the possibility of a meaningful and peaceful reset.
Witcoff is too conflicted with business and financial interests in the region, all outside of Israel, to be a fair arbiter. Trump holds his friendships close, and Witcoff is clearly close to and trusted by Trump, who may also be conflicted through family business and financial interestrs in the region, all outside of Israel.
I have mixed take on Admin and no real info on what is really going on with this issue. I am therefore trying to suspend judgement a bit.
Agree conflicts and other things (including failure to articulate a coherent and comprehensive ethical narrative) are troubling but: (a) sometimes waiting “a bit” is the wiser course; (b) they did help Israel get the hostages home👍; and (c) I 🙏🏼 they recoil from a deal with the Ayatollahs other than unconditional surrender … anything less would be a rank stain that will never out in this world or the next.
Agree that Trump helped get the hostages back through influence by Qatar, which demonstrates Qatar has immense influence with hamas when they choose to use it for good. As for Trump's statements that hamas must unconditionally surrender and must disarm, that seems to get ignored as he pushes Israel into phase 2 and announces there is peace now in Gaza. I'm hoping Trump sticks to his original strong statements of support, but have reduced hope with his belief Qatar and Turkey need to be involved.
Qatar is a force for evil not good and I have same fears as you about where this might go … 🙏🏼ing all the “noise” is prelude to meaningful and beneficial action.
An “Iranian Final Deal” is never final. It’s the “bazaar” negotiations until something substantial, i.e., money, changes hands. What it will be? Only President Trump knows.
"The agreement [signed] in 2015 between the U.S., Europe, Russia, China and Iran is very similar to the Munich Agreement of 1938. Nazi Germany was a police state, and so is Iran. The Nazis' initial broader goal was to take control of their geographical region, and the greater goal of Iran is to expand into the Arab countries. Nazi Germany was an ideological rival of the Western democracies, and sought to dominate Europe, and Iran seeks to take over the Middle East and the Islamic world. And just as Britain and France sought to appease Nazi Germany, these same two countries, along with the U.S., have chosen to try and appease Iran…”

Muslims are masters of ambiguity. Their religious doctrine of lying based on ambiguity is called tawriyya. They are expert both at applying ambiguity and at exploiting it.
The notion that reconciliation with Islamic terrorist states or groups harboring extreme animosity towards Western societies is feasible remains a persistent, yet deeply flawed, perspective, especially by the woke regressive Leftist useful idiots in Israel.
Such ideologies fundamentally reject coexistence and often view those with differing beliefs as inherently inferior or adversarial.
Engaging with such viewpoints requires a clear understanding of their brainwashed mentality, religion, tribalism and mindset.
Therefore, any approach must acknowledge the profound ideological chasm that prevents genuine reconciliation.
It is crucial to recognize the limitations of dialogue when faced with such intransigent and hostile ideologies.
Arabic word "hudna" is the perfect description for this strategy. Loosely translated, by me anyway, "a pause while reloading all magazines before resuming hostilities from a Thestronger position." Let them have their "hudna" only until our "hudna" is complete
Only time will tell whether a Chamberlain steps off of a plane waving a piece of paper and proclaiming, "peace in our time", or whether a Churchill proclaims, "we will fight them until the end."
That their diplomacy is a sham is a re-statement of the obvious. As to ANY nuclear deal with the Mad Mullahs I would suggest President Trump keep Whiteman AFB in Missouri on speed dial.
I suspect that most westerners believe that honorable people do not lie, although British diplomats have historically found ways around this requirement in dealings with the Arab World and elsewhere. It is still probably difficult for those of us in the West to conceive of the requirements of Islamist honor, where, and as with British imperialism, the underlying test of honor rests with protecting and expanding the Islamic State rather than behaving objectively honorably. Lies, deception, and manipulation are absolutely fair game when it comes to furthering the Islamist goal of dominating the world. If we continue to believe lies, because of what we perceive as a shared sense of honor and integrity, we will be trampled by a stampede of Trojan horses, and western honor will fall into oblivion.
Quoting the essay: "From Israel’s perspective, Trump may already be laying the groundwork for military action. By exhausting diplomatic avenues and publicly exposing Iranian obstinacy, he can argue that force became unavoidable." I firmly believe this is what is happening. Also, it is not just Iran buying time; this theater production is also buying time for the US and Israel. Each day that goes by, the coming military action is being fine-tuned, getting everything ready and as close to perfect as possible--because the attack must be quick, overwhelming, and decisive; otherwise, we risk putting boots on the ground and the US public screaming, "Another Iraq! Another Afghanistan!"
I agree totally with the title of this essay, it's a full blown scam. Personally, when Witkoff was made US Foreign Envoy in March 2025, and lo and behold, in May 2025, Trump made his visit to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. Witkoff and Kushner going to negotiate and in Turkey of all places. Why there? Because Erdogan is such a neutral party, lol? The bells and whistles aircraft was gifted to him, and by coincidence, his attitude towards all things Middle Eastern began to change. He vowed to fight back at anyone who attacked Qatar, Israel told to stand down on Iran when they could have finished the job, repeated empty threats to Hamas and now a horribly empty threat to the people of Iran. If this regime stays in place, Trump will have the blood of the Iranian people on his hands. The defenders of the IRGC saying it has not made a decision to have a bomb? As if the IRGC would admit to that. I believe this negotiation on nuclear weapons is another smoke screen because that is one threat. If the IRGC stays in power than all its proxies will be supported once again. Witkoff and Kushner have little clue about the Middle East. Witkoff sold his soul to Qatar for bailing him out and Kushner is able to make great real estate deals with them. Kushner gets the bulk of the credit about the Abraham Accords, but I would bet that David Friedman had much more to do with it than Kushner. Trump, Witkoff, and Kushner have been compromised and it will be to the detriment of the US and Israel.
Given that Iran is an authoritarian theocracy that oppresses its own people n funds terror with proxies outside Iran to further its geopolitical interests, what is the best strategy? There is plenty of agreement on the evils of Iran, but most discussions are that one can’t pursue diplomacy. Full Stop. That leaves armed conflict. That doesn’t seem so simple. Iraq n Afghanistan are perfect examples. No one addresses the intricacies n risks of how an armed conflict would disrupt the entire region with other players in the Arab world filling the vacuum. I’m not saying it can’t be done. I’m saying most people describing Iran as terrible aren’t telling us anything we don’t already know. And if you say diplomacy won’t work, come up with a credible alternative. (Btw, those critics of the “Iran deal” have been predicting Iran would have a nuclear weapon in weeks or months since 2010 - so their dire warnings are wearing thin.)

Let’s share it widely.

Would not trust the current Iranian regime an inch … and the same applies to any Arab country.
