You are so right. Israel was invaded and brutally attacked. Israel fights back as any sovereign Country would. No explanation is needed!

Well Said. I’m sooo tired of the bleeding hearts who’re accusing Israel for their plight yet they tolerate a Terrorist Group who are bent on destroying Israel. Israel needs to implement a scorched earth policy.

Dresden during WW II was leveled - no one said boo.

I’m sooo tired of hearing about the Palestinians and their Living Conditions

If Hamas wants Peace and end Hunger - simply lay down your weapons

No explanation is required in defense of a war of self defense against an enemy that seeks to render the State and Land of Israel Judenrein

It had to be said and now it must be done. I am a gentile defender of Israel and have heard every one of these slippery ways to blame Israel for Hamas’ invasion. Meanwhile, I don’t hear much from the “ pro Palestinian” side at all about Ukrainian children or Ukrainian mothers as civilians in a battlefield. where was the outrage at ourselves when the US killed 350,000 civilians and combatants at Fallujah? Yet General Petraeus said that the Israeli command is using the same battle plan. Or at least was. I agree with the writer that the whole civilian response by people interested is not fair. whether Israel can combat it, i’m not so sure.

Yonatan, your argument is well presented. We now live on a planet where nearly everything is inside out and upside down. Barely any ethics or morality exist. And, that is a huge part of the problem. You are dealing with an enemy that lacks both. They are doing an excellent job presenting their "case", which is full of lies and deception, to people who also lack ethics or moral ground. The media does not present the truth-- everything is framed in "bad Israel" or "evil Jews" to garner viewership. The audience, or at least those that are still asleep, accepts what they see and hear as the truth, and they are too ignorant, too immoral to think, to reason, to question. Of course, it does not help that some Israeli mouthpieces, official and not, start their presentation with the now obligatory apology for wrongs not committed.

Israel should not be defensive about being a sovereign nation defending itself against enemies sworn to its destruction. Israel should not be defensive when those questioning (rather, interrogating) lack morals and ethics, using a predetermined one-sided agenda-- undermining Israel and portraying Jews as Satans.

Israel needs to do what is necessary-- no apologies, no explanations-- and trust that G-d, as the final judge, is fair and just.

RIGHT ON!!! Speaking the truth is hard because you are challenging the questioner/interviewer and nobody likes to be knocked on their heels. And until we all speak up to the whiners then the war marches on and the truth gets buried in the ruble.

A very powerful and righteous column. Israelis and other Jews need to lose the shtetl mentality, including "don't make trouble" and "what will the goyim say?" But after all these decades of sovereignty, purchased at a steep price in blood and treasure, it doesn't seem as if they're getting the memos. If, during this most gruesome episode, not even very old and the blood not yet dry, Jews cannnot or will not stand up for ourselves, we gotta go another route. Not lookin' real good.

Well said. Disregard praise and blame, when you are doing the right thing. That is what the Gita advises. My post "Stand Up and Fight: The Bhagavad-Gita Explains what a Just War is" https://ruthvanita452091.substack.com/p/stand-up-and-fight

Brilliant piece! I only wish that my Jewish friends would read this, so as to help them find moral clarity, which has sadly been lacking since Oct. 7th. It’s almost as if they don’t want their feathers ruffled and prefer to stay silent and uninvolved.
