I don’t agree at all. Trump and Netanyahu have both said that the deal is off if Hamas does not disarm. Let’s get our hostages back and see what Hamas does. If they hem and haw and play for more time, Israel will turn Gaza into glass and kill every last Hamas terrorist, no matter the civilian cost.

I agree.

Personally I suspect Hamas will not meet the terms of the offer and will - as usual - try to delay, procrastinate, obfuscate and effectively do nothing.

And if that’s the case I suggest they will increasingly come to resemble the Tamil Tigers.

I have no issues with that outcome.

Israel seems to like the deal:

https://www.jns.org/tel-aviv-stocks-soar-to-new-highs-on-optimism-over-gaza-plan/

I say, give it chance to work. If the hostages are not released, Trump has said the war is back on. If the hostages are released, and Hamas pulls a fast one, the war is back on.

Once the hostages are released, Hamas has no leverage left.

Let this play out.

By the way if Trump wanted a Nobel Peace Prize he would never have sent B-2 Bombers to wipe out Iran's nuclear program. He would not have told the US Navy to blow up the Venezuelan drug boats. That Iran bombing may have rightly won many friends in Israel as it should, but not with the Norwegian Nobel Peace Prize voters.

I personally can't answer your question. as I do not have an insider's knowledge to their discussions.

I do know we both support Israel and want its enemies destroyed. How that is accomplished is the question.

The IDF did NOT handle this 2 year Gaza operation well. I do not blame the soldiers but the General Staff. I have read enough about their incompetence that dragged this out far longer than necessary such that Israel put itself in a worse situation than necessary. That is water under the bridge.

Trump gave Hamas a fixed package deal. Hamas is now stalling. I hope Trump sees the stalling for what it is, calls Hamas' bluff and lets Israel finish the job if this drags on much longer and I mean days not weeks.

this might NOT be even the victory of the hostage movement (goosed by Qatar....some say). Nope. HamAss is sayin' they don't have access....cannot find....cannot locate. This is nothin' less than....obscene.... (but yer writin' this piece, much appreciated)

I confess that I tend to be perennially and, for the most part, shamelessly optimistic which generally costs me nothing worse than social embarrassment, but has on occasion cost me a fair bit when I've made business bets that should've delivered spectacular results but instead yielded only a large goose egg. Nevertheless, I think that the Laurel and Hardy routine that our dynamic duo have been practicing has been polished to near perfection, and many of those near and dear to us, bright and sophisticated as they may be, fail to consider all the late-night hours that our champions have devoted to studying old taqiyyah manuals. When our team gets really upset that Orange Man has betrayed us and gone over to the dark side because he is driven by over-weaning arrogance and lust for the glory of a noble prize, that's a good sign that the current theatrical production is truly spell-binding. May it achieve its intended aims...

I kin only wish yer right Sam! but the guy that made Bibi schtop bombin' Iran (bomb-us-interrupt-us) an' pushed Bibi multiple times ta make zo many pauses ("seize" fires givin' HamAss time ta re-arm) an' pressured Israel ta cede on the food delivery "issue" (who duz this?) when the only entity starvin' the Fallies wuz HamAss, an' when King Kayfabe said the LAST time that the hostages had ta be released "or else" (an' did squat about it)..... I jus' cain't see thru the same rose-tinted sunglasses....

Also his verbiage is insultin'--"I made Bibi do this..." I told him to do "that" etc.... Not "we agreed".... The apology to Qatar?! C'mon....

An' WHAT 'bout THIS?!

https://nypost.com/2025/10/06/world-news/inside-trumps-blunt-exchange-with-netanyahu-after-major-development-in-gaza-peace-deal/

(how he talks to a fellow leader... I mean mebbe Mister Zelensky Sweatsuit Stand Up Comic might deserve it but Bibi? ON-MIC? not hot mic?)

He hobbled Israel--no Judea & Samaria, no oversight in Guzzla (an' the PLO is a good watchman?! Oy)....it's a crappy deal if ya ask me...

BUT it's not that Orange Man has betrayed us / gone over ta the dark side--it's that he never really wuz on Israel's "side" OR fer that matter on the "dark side" either. Ruther he buddies up with whomever seems ta be on the "right side" PR-wise, good bizness-wise, an' public approval-wise.

Arguably Bibi knows full well 'bout taquiyyah...not so sure 'bout Teflon Don...

Glad yer aware White an' his sharp takes on the Management of OUR Reality!

But AGAIN yer reducin' HIS take by makin' gross egg-zagerations that neither I nor White nor many others make...

Yoo state that yer not ready to: "dismiss him (Trump) as an egomaniacal bozo and con artist. Or as a tool of the bosses."

Of course not...White duz not do that either...!

He finds (an' I'll agree) that DJT is "less of a fan/supporter" of ve joos than he is a "player." An' as a player, his take long replicates the decades-old attytude of the US statin' they are allies but not always behavin' such-like.

Per White, DJT's transactional, a bit of a jockey in terms of navigatin' the racetrack terry-tory (i.e. the race isn't quite rigged but he's got betters from both Israel & Quatar/Arab Naytions on his horse, an' he duz not wanna disappoint EITHER side so he plays BOTH sides)....

***Bein' a savvy strategist is far from bein' a bozo & con artist... ***

(not ta be cheeky here but yer playin' that Strawman tune with sum fancy footwork a bit less ingenuous than Ray Bolger's ;-)--ya cain't say "no he's not X" when neither I nor White said he wuz X"....

So.... I wouldn't say bozo (a bit fulla bluster is different) nor Con Artist either--tho' his roots with Roy Cohn & his "Ahrt of the Deal" duz include bein' mobbed-up AND doin' a few thangs that are not zo kosher with borrowin' / money-loss on properties are INDEED a mite dicey ("prove me wrong" ;-) Abso-loot-ly there are way worse leaders out there... an' of COURSE Donnie's been unethically slammed by RussiaRussiaRussiaGate (an' the skeery likes of E. Jean Grifter lizard). I m'self schtarted out more a fan BUT my enthusiasm has morphed inta caution...

An' there we MAY respectfully disagree (yer in good com'ny thar)

Let's put'it this way--

As an American, I'm all fer America-First an' MAGA (but not at the expense 've us joos bein' thrown under the bus, which half of MAGA is makin' now an issue).

As a chew, of course the safety of all've us here an' all over in the diaspora AND in Israel are vital concerns an' those concerns DO put inta qvestion DJT an' his "deals"--not ta "diss him" (nor bury him haha) but ta feel right in askin' the four (or more) questions well-prior to pesach as a kid-inquisitive--then so-be-it ;-)

Again, I'd LIKE ta think he respects Bibi & Israel an' that as a guy with jooish grandkids he'd really have our backs. BUT given WitKopf, Qatar (De plane de plane!), an' the sorry-ass way he's treatin' Bibi (imho makin' deals with HamAss is a deep shonda as is cursin' the man out like he's the bellhop.....).... duz call this stance inta qvestion....

An' that's where I sit (currently)... YES, I TOO wish that I'm wrong an' "Orange Man Brag" is right.... but I'm jus' far less "trustin'".... "peas" out

Of all the people with whom I respectfully disagree, I would have to say , respectfully, that I put you up near the tippy-top of my disagree-ers. It's a fascinating thing how how people can look at the same bouquet of flowers and see different things. And in our present-day reality, it all gets complicated exponentially by the fact that propaganda is no longer an element of statecraft as it was in days of yor, but, rather, it has become the playing field itself. Watching/reading/listening to the news these days taxes our hermeneutic skills to the max.

To wit: when Trump accepted the gift of a spiffy new jet plane from the Emir of Qatar, was he:

1) Revealing that he is a vain, ambitious, greedy fool who can be easily bought, or

2) Accepting a gift to establish a relationship in which he can be expected to reciprocate, or

3) Executing a plan in which items 1) and 2) enable him to bring all his enemies to the table and to make them an offer which they can't refuse.

I won't pretend to know what's really motivating the various players in their heart of hearts. I just think we need to be cautious about taking Trump's rhetoric and behavior at face value. At the least, I believe we have to give him credit for recognizing that negotiation with Hamas would always be a dead end and that leverage could only be achieved by going behind their backs. How convenient that he had established a good working relationship with the Emir of Qatar...

Not mindin' ta be the one with whom ya most disagree...I may indeed be readin' what's goin' on "against the grain" but that's also how I cut mah brisket lol. As fer 1, 2, er 3 I'd say "all of the above" but all three are risky... even no. 3 which could backfire...

I hear that as of t'day HamAss is not givin' up weapons an' is enterin' the territory they ain't supposed ta be in. Ya cain't control a scorpion...an' good folks may underestimate the enemy... jus' sayin'... Also, one've the biggest issues in the "us vs them" battle with the pallies is that too many approachin' the situation ASSUME good intentions cuz' they bear 'em. They ASSUME all human beans, in fact, are like us--share the same values. Sadly I'm larnin' that soitenly ain't that way with those that practice Islam (accordin' ta Hoyle that is)

DJT reachin' out ta Quatar with THIS frankly drained the blood from mah head an' got me feelin' faint:

https://rairfoundation.com/pentagon-approves-qatar-sharing-us-air-base-idaho/

Daniel Greenfield, spot-on (imho) as per usual...

<< narcissistic lunacy >> : is the only thing Trump has ever perpetrated.

<< that Netanyahu did not see that coming >> : I don´t think so. Rather he sees the unfulfillabilities, contradictions, incompleteness in Trump's delusional and compulsive actions, and that the nonsense cannot last, time will show. But if he acts against this now when the world is drunk from that shiity "peace plan", it will fall back on Israel.

There are so many things unclear in that glorious "peace plan"; ambiguities and pitfalls that the Wittkoffs are too stupid to foresee, solve or even understand.

<< making the return of the hostages the most important issue >> is the priority of the Israel "opposition" and the "peace"niks that brought us to Oct 07

How widely stupid and incompetent Trump is, should have been clear since his ineffective and senseless blathering with Putin at the latest, where significant allies are needed and must be integrated, which is, however, completely alien to an egomaniac like Trump.

Needed to be said. Always be sceptical of peace plans when you are dealing with inbred, low IQ, sadistic, sub-human trash like Hamas and their allies. As civilisation collapses in the West, Israel is the world’s only hope. Truly, a light unto the nations.

Trump’s reputation is on the line. He said if the hostages were not ALL released and Hamas disarmed , laying down their arms of war, something bad, real bad was going to happen.

I have supported Donald J Trump from the beginning of MAGA , but here is where I draw the line, if he betrays Israel.

Hamas is the terrorist entity, not Israel. If Hamas lays down their arms, there is Peace, if Israel lays down their arms, the terror continues, world wide!!!

Bibi is aware of the well-funded Israeli discontent from the hostage families, the ever-miserable Israeli left, the diplomatic isolation and massive media campaign against the Israeli government and Jews everywhere. Israel has been looking for an off-ramp. Hamas is pulverised and stripped of Iranian and the major part of Qatar collaboration.
