Joshua, you’re a gifted writer and it’s amazing how spot on your analysis is. Your analogies are remarkably telling. In a sense it’s unfortunate that your remarkable writing is wasted on moronic “progressives” who are as barbarous as radical Islam. I’m an old disabled Jew who lives in the U.S. but my heart and soul lives in Israel. Am Yisrael Chai.

I agree completely except for the fact that the moronic progressives are NOT reading this. They should.

I seriously doubt there's any point in showing this to Muslims, but how can we get Joshua's brilliant message out to the non-Muslim hand-wringing progressives of the world???

I don’t think it’s possible.. and with Trump in bed with Qatar and Witkoff the U.S. envoy who also has huge business dealings with Qatar Israel has a serious problem. The American/Jewish hostage was released by Hamas at Qatar’s bequest which is great for his family but Trump will take all the credit (unfortunately I voted for him because of Israel) and begin to flush Israel down the proverbial toilet. Hamas will get political capital which makes me vomit. A liar is a liar is a liar 🤥.. not good

I am still hopeful that the current administration will not side with the jihadists and their lovers as the last one did. But your point is taken. Israel must be fully prepared to defend itself fully and completely and can no longer rely on American support. If not now then surely the next time jihad loving Democrats return to office.

Ya fergot that Trumpenstein is sayin' he's gonna honor "Falla-Schtinian" Statehood. Yup, I held out hope but with "friends" like this....

An' he ain't talkin' ta Bibi... (not that I'mma fan of Bibi's as he too sold out "his own")... but that's notta good sign...

THEN there's Quatar's Palace in the Air (i.e. Air Force 1)--a g(r)ift accepted....flyin' the Pot-Us no less... (Magick Car-Pitt ride...)

I ain't "down with" Trump.... we'll all go "down with" Trump if we ain't careful.... Quatar's bigger pockets are the bright shiny object he likes....

Honestly, we cain't count on AmeriKa ta support Israel in any way (that may be better in the long run...) no matter how juicy the blackmail info Mossad "owns" mebbe....I'm sure sum doozies! An' we yet livin' here cain't count on AmeriKa ta keep joos safe either... at least not in our shitties...

I believe the sym-bollock bone thrown ta us recently (one that wuz kinda rotten an' rankles much) wuz the aim ta silence college anti-semitic speech...

Everyone goin' "see he LIKES us he REALLY REALLY LIKES US" wuz deluded / de-looted...

Given that the cure fer such speech is more speech, not less... it's an archly cynical move ta APPEAR ta make him SEEM sympathetic ta protectin' chews but really doin'us harm. Cuz it just pissed off everybuddy like the Mama in the playground cringe-announcin' "don't bully my little Johnny, he plays piana an' cannot defend himself lest he break a finger....". DJT triggered more cam-puss hate against joos an' zionists b/c he singled us out uniquely... an' of course we're shart on more than others but it wuz mis-handled to our detriment... Also it cost 'im nothin' that ol' bone... just "woids"....whereas supportin' Israel costs BIGLY.

We're on our own....or as David Byrne'd say, "Same as it ever was..."

I'm always afraid of what's to come next - accepting a gift of any variety from Qatar is beyond the pale & accepting a jet shows the world how Trump can be bought. By the end of this term I worry this will no longer be the United States, as we will be sold off to the highest bidder.

Palestine was the moniker applied by the British Empire to Judea. Everyone there was a Palestinian in but the Arab traders left over from the Ottoman Empire refused the moniker publicly. It was a calculation of Arafat to get a people to call themselves that name which the PLO indicated was a falsehood attempt to reconquer the area. It is imperative NOT to give in to this misnomer. I call Arabs living in Gaza Gazans. Lets all do this.

“We are witnessing the largest ethnic cleansing operation since the end of World War II,” Borrell said...

Tell that to the Tibetans! They even had their own religion outlawed then replaced by a Chinese knock-off. And they didn't have the luxury of simply surrendering to save themselves, as the Palestinians do. But the Chinese have bought off enough politicians around the world that this got swept under the rug.

I'm beginning to think that here in the sundowning West, we've entered our Age of Autism (unless it's our Age of Narcissism)—nothing happens unless it happens to Westerners, no one is guilty except for Westerners, no one has any agency or responsibility except for Westerners—because Western liberals are so pathologically self-besotted they really imagine all the world's a stage for them to perform their morality plays where they get to parade their conspicuous compassion and enlightened empathy.

Western liberals treat Israel like a neighbor with a psychotic child (Hamas): Why can't you make that kid shut up!? We're sick of all that racket! Just give it what it wants! I don't care if the kid kills you, I just wanna get back to sleeping and dreaming...And the irony here is that they do this because they know Israel wants peace and responds to reason and negotiation, whereas there's no hope in expecting any of that from the Palestinians.

From Europe to the Americas to Australia pro-Palestinian demonstrators chant, “From the river to the sea Palestine shall be free,” and “Globalize the Intifada.”

This is not “All we are saying is give peace a chance,” the slogan of the anti-Viet Nam war movement.

“From the River to the Sea” calls for the destruction of Israel. “Globalize the Intifada,” sounds like a thinly veiled threat against Zionists – that is Jews – globally. The demonstrators on college campuses proves that it is. And politicians from the left to the right agree with them

My “light” summer reading is going to include “Nazis, Islamic Antisemitism and the Middle East” by Matthias Kuntzel - a book about how the Nazis literally exported their ideas to the Middle East in the ‘30’s and ‘40’s, which landed on the willing ears of those who already hated Jews for the prior 1400 years. It’s no coincidence that we are still defending ourselves from this virus.

Being “progressive” is a problem. It’s a question of direction. We can be progressive towards developing human rights, applying to all, regardless of ethnicity, sex, religion etc or we can be progressive towards a cave dwelling prehistoric lifestyle.

“Progressive” has been co-opted. Perfectly good word that is being repurposed. It’s developing negative connotations. Progressive feminism and progressive wokeism are I think particularly dangerous.

The globalists intentionally place Jews in positions of power to perpetuate the libel that Jews control the gov’t, the corporations, the media, hollywood, etc. Of course, they select Jews in name only, as the vast majority of them seem not to care about Israel’s survival.

As I respond to your post...".Edan Alexander is now free. " Now AID will flow into Gaza! Hurrah.

Friday NY Times of May 9th another denunciation of Israel for it's use of starvation....the imminent humanitarian disaster. Alleged. No mention of hamas. No mention of hostages. Pope Leo could have called for the immediate and unconditional release of all living and dead hostages. He did not. I heard "beachwashing" as a charge against Israel fifty years ago when Israel was doing the most dastardly thing of allegedly building a beach resort in Sinai. Zoom forward to my local Queens NY farmer's market...I'm approached by the world's oldest living former SDS...perhap jvp.....member "are you for a Palestine." "No, I'm for Israel." She walks away. The candidate for NYC comptroller and I exchange a few words in Hebrew....he tells me in Hebrew his son made aliyah and is on a kibbutz near Tel Aviv. He says he gets a lot of flack for his support of Israel. Yes in the infamous "JewYorkCity" with the world's largest concentration of Jews...it's not cool to support Israel. Best to you Joshua Hoffman in the Homeland.

The major blame falls on the radicalization of American institutions, mainly universities and media, that has been ongoing for 40 years and goes beyond Israel. Recall that in 2020 the BLM movement was broadly against all things "white"; it was only later they realized that offending 70% of the US population was not a great strategy and they focused the same hatred but only on the Jewish community.

That said, a minor part of the blame falls on the current Israeli government, which went out of its way to fire the most effective spokesmen for Israel based on petty political disagreements. Luckily, Eylon Levy and Noa Tishby rose above that and continue their work in private capacity.

https://www.citizenspox.com/

https://www.noatishby.com/

And notably, when a visible segment of the American Jewish community defected to the pro-Hamas camp, a much larger segment of the Evangelical Christian community stood firm by its principles and the Jewish people:

No change from the previous Pope's pro-hamas stance. You would think the Vatican would speak out about the persecution and genocide of Christians under islam. But no, that gets ignored while he piles on against the Jewish state and gives aid and comfort to hamas. That is the politically safe stance to take. Contemptuous moral cowardice emanating from the leader of the Catholic church. It's nauseating how the media is gushing over him for being the first American Pope. So what. How about some leadership and moral clarity from the Vatican for a change instead of pandering to popular sentiment. How about at least saying hamas should surrender, disarm and release the hostages and the "palestinians" should accept the right of the Jewish people to self-determination in their ancestral homeland.

“So here’s the question: Why are so many Western liberals abandoning their own cultural understanding of proportionality and siding with the worldview of the Jahiliya? Is it guilt? Is it cowardice? Is it just trend-chasing performative rage?”

Another excellent work Joshua…

I suggest, however, that the ultimate answer to our question above applies across the board; to the entire world. Tragically, this includes a shocking number of Jews as well.

Ultimately, it is because the majority of the world’s population have “…exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

Romans 1:25 (NKJV)

and,

“When the foundations are destroyed,

what can the righteous man do?"

Psalms 11:3 (Tanakh)

and,

“For My people have done a twofold wrong: they have forsaken Me, the Fount of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, which cannot even hold water.”

Jeremiah 2:13 (Tanakh)

and,

“The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule accordingly; and My people like it so. But what will you do at the end of it?”
