They are Arabs from Egypt, Jordan, Syria and other surrounding countries who came to Ottoman controlled Palestine when the returning Jews started to cultivate the land make it a success. ‘Palestinianism’ is an ideology that was created by the KGB and Arafat in 1964. Stop treating a fake people as if they are legitimate!
But the "Palestinians" don't want their own land for any purpose other than murdering Jews. Until that changes - and, at best, it would take generations of de-radicalization after removing Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and so on - there is no "best chance" because they don't want it.
They can't think any differently. Poison does as poison is. Their minds are polluted. Only a new generation educated from scratch can grow in healthy understanding. And that, which at some point Saudi Arabia had hinted it could do, is not going to happen.
The world has coddled them and funded their terrorism. The Muslim nations also encourage them, stand by them, always expecting the dream of wiping out Israel to magically materialise. Thus they kept them in misery, aided by the UN to the tune of 7 times what all the world's refugees got.
And yet, when Jordan and Egypt occupied the " Palestinian" territories, since 1948 ,those territories weren't " Palestinian" anymore. Just like Jordan, all of it formerly " Palestine " ,no longer existed as " Palestine " anymore, even as the vast majority of its people are " Palestinians".
Arabs never accept they lost. Their mental capacities don't allow it. Reason is not a top priority. Emotion is. If they could accept they lost - and to Israel and the Jews!- , there would be peace.
The fraudulent "Palestinians" live with the narcissistic delusion that they will be the ones to return Jerusalem to the Muslim Umma, and bring about Israel's destruction. They dream of this hero role. By whatever means necessary.
It is a great and healing plan. Others have pointed out the issue that Jordan does not want to touch the so-called Palestinians any more than Egypt because they are now several generations into radical violent Muslim mental illness. My final point is that your plan is rational and sensible in all socioeconomic ways, but at bottom, the Palestinian ideal is the ethnic cleansing of all non believers and the sole occupation of Israel. That means the conversion or murder of Jews Christians and any other non Moslem person who does not meet standards. Sounds totally crazy, doesn’t it? Religious war is crazy. Goodbye win-win scenario.

After the slaughter of Oct. 7 and all the misery and expense that has followed lets give them a similar offer to 20 or 30 years ago. They could cut the country by 50%, give away millennia of Jewish history and continue to have to maintain enormous defense budgets and conscription/reserve duty and bring another Islamic state within grenade throwing distance of more Israeli homes and families. What a deal! I hope the Israelis aren’t stupid enough to fall for this type of nonsense yet again.

This is wishful thinking. The vast majority of the "Palestinians" have been indoctrinated into the Jihadi/martyrdom cult. Until that gets washed out of the populations in Judea/Samaria and Gaza, there will not be sufficient appetite for any sort of accords.

The sort of forced (and tragic) land swaps like the “Nakba” and the expulsion of the ~1M Jews from all over the Arab world happened all the time in the early 20th century, as the old empires were crumbling and people were grouping together (by choice or force) along mostly ethnic and religious lines.
Only in Israel did the world fetishize this catastrophe, and then only one side of it. In a sane (i.e., not rabidly antisemitic) world, this would have been viewed as a fair, albeit painful, exchange of land and everyone would have moved on. Only when infantile Arabs are involved, does this not happen.
So good luck getting these people to buy into this plan.
