It’s all true, except as I was admonished on a discussion in the Washington Post, Jews today are not descendants of Abraham.

At least I have proof that someone reads comments. Stupid antisemitism is most dangerous.

Great article. It’s amazing how we’ve taken lemons over the centuries and didn’t just make lemonade but lemon cake, lemon babka, lemon challah… Oh, and the world will purchase from our bakery and still throw lemons at us.

I've experienced the curse of being gifted myself. I've noticed that those who are gifted with beauty, brains, money, whatever are rarely in very good shape with the Father. It's often a sad temptation toward self-reliance. I'm just starting to get over my dose, and I'll be 81 next week. Most of my life was dominated by obnoxious. But G-d is good, and He redeemed me.

Yeah as a non-Jew I always hear talk of the 'Israel lobby' when Israel is the most demonised country online and in the world.

It doesn't make sense. Nick Fuentes and the like base their whole personality around 'you can't criticise Israel' and yet so many online content creators have grifted on Jew hate.

I actually had to come here to get the pro-Israel side of the story.

I don't buy into the 'historic homeland' stuff, but I do believe that the Jews deserve and need a state, and it's the fault of the surrounding countries for not letting them have this.

I think, retrospectively, another territory which was more remote might have been better for a Jewish state. But I know that the whole 'mythology' around Zionism was this 'Great Return', and either way, it exists now.

I don't feel threatened by 'Jewish power' because aside from generally supporting Israel, Jews are not of one political opinion. I criticise people for their political opinions, not their ethnicity as proof of a hidden plot.

Antisemitism is a form of Critical Race Theory if you really think about it. In this worldview, the only explanation for group disparities must be systematic advantages, for the left that's Whites (which increasingly overlaps with Jews) and for the right it's Jews.

why don't you "buy into" the historic homeland stuff? All the physical and documented evidence that the Jews are the indigenous people of Israel--and you don't believe it?

addin' this too.... many lands conquered, as per the gentleman's comment, but not "kept" in the hearts of the people! We "chews" pray towards Jerusalem, every one'a our prayers starts with "Hear Oh Israel" (the Shemah!), annually we end our seders "Next Year in Jerusalem," and we have more poems, prayers, psalms, & even secular texts connectin' our people to the holy land from which we came! I don't see, fer example, the Brits pinin' fer the dayz when the Romans ran England... It ain't the same... just sayin' Israel as a homeland, it's like a tea bag steepin' our collective tea... we are infused with this...not just heritage, history, or (as some accuse) indoctrination.... ONLY jews who never were raised with one iota of their jooish I-dent-titty (or wurse, shame fer their "roots") could deny the connection... yup, we're different.... (an' one'a these days the rest of the world'll afford us "equal" by different...!)

Because if you go far enough back every group can claim a territory that they once inhabited as belonging to them.

That to me has always been the weakest claim. The strongest claim is that a Jewish state needs to exist.

I understand. But there was no where else for the Jews to go--the only ethnic group in the world that had no where to go. And because there were still plenty of Jews in the area controlled by the British, and Jews always longed to return to that important land (because the land is mentioned repeatedly in the Old Testament as for the Jews and God commanded the Jews to care for the land and live on the land), it made sense. All the ancient temples are there, ancient villages, and so much more history that the Islamists are trying to erase. Such a teeny little strip of land, so important to the Jewish faith. In times of trouble like we have yet again, Jews now have somewhere to escape to and indeed, many Jews are fleeing Australia, South Africa, Canada and other places that have become dangerous for them now, in 2025. That said, I, and I am sure most Jews, truly appreciate your support!

I support Israel now. It’s common sense that Jews should have a state of their own. The surrounding Muslim countries not being able to accept that is utterly petty.

Expand full comment
Dana Ramos's avatar

That is because their interpretation of the Quran states to kill Jews and all other infidels, and that the entire world must become Muslim. Israel stands in the way of making the entire Middle East an Islamic Caliphate. That is changing, however, as the moderate Arab countries are starting to embrace the "Muslim Reform Movement" (Google it) and to accept Israel and co-existence, peace and prosperity and to sign the Abraham Accords. A New Middle East is coming, very soon! It's wonderful to witness it all unfold.

So,why say “another territory which was more remote might have been better for a Jewish state”?

Expand full comment
Aidan Todd's avatar

Because it would've been better for everyone if a more remote and less contested territory had been found.

But it's irrelevant now, Israel exists and should be supported.

The Critical Race Theory part is very important. Jews, and others, succeed because they work hard at it. Other cultures have had it hard as well. They need to get their acts together and figure out how to do the same. I wish them well.

If the Jews were really all-powerful, as some conspiracists would have it, then wouldn’t we have figured out a way to stamp out antisemitism once and for all? Say, a little something-something in the water? 😂

Great text. Heard most of them now and then for decades. Except about Hollywood, never knew that Jews runs that too… hard to believe with thought of how aggressively many of these fake people in there accuse Jews for this and that.

That’s a point too: how come that people who spend and spent their lives pretending being other persons suddenly are coming out as political oracles..?

Strange…

"As for the “violent settlers”? Yes, there are a handful of extremist outliers"

May 29th, 2025, fifteen day old Ravid Chaim Gez was buried in Israel, having lived for only two weeks. His mother, Tzeela Gez, was murdered by a Palestinian terrorist while on her way to the hospital to give birth. This is not the first time Israelis have been subjected to hit and run attacks on their cars, homes, businesses, and villages.

Two questions: if the authorities fail to prevent violent assaults on persons and property, how long before they mount vigilante actions to defend themselves? Second question: How long have these attacks on Jews been going on without so much as a boo by the world media? Could it be that the silence implies tacit approval because, as we all know, Jews have no right to be in Judea, Samaria, in fact all of Palestine in the first place?

[Side question: Isn't that the very definition of "Palestine" — a place sans Israel, sans, Jews?]

Same reason for the deafening silence on the many, many violations of International Law by Hamas such as: "not wearing uniforms (war crime), shooting from schoolyards (war crime), and deliberately putting children in the line of fire (war crime)" but full volume, surround sound condemnations of Israel for defending itself.

"Zionism is when indigenous people return to their land after 2,000 years in exile and ask nicely for self-determination — and then have to defend themselves in genocidal war after genocidal war after genocidal war after genocidal war after genocidal war after genocidal war just to keep it."

Try this for size: If an American, proud of his country and willing to defend it against attack, is a patriot; if a Ukrainian, proud of his heritage and willing to defend it against invasion is a nationalist; what is a Zionist if not a patriot and nationalist? What is Zionism if not a patriotism, nationalisms?

"Jews know how precious a homeland is. That’s not disloyalty; that’s memory."

Memory or recognition of Sanctuary, Place of Refuge, especially when they remember how often countries allowed them in only to turn on them later?

Discussing the future of Jews should not be about antisemites! We have far larger problems of our own making.

Do Reform and Conservative Jews, who are too busy repairing the World with Tikkun Olam have any future? (This is the very World that does not want them to put their dirty fingers in its collective mouth, as a Yiddish proverb says.)

Josh, ask them whether they have Jewish grandchildren or any other stake in the Future of Jewish - what??? Antisemites and mosquitoes will always be here.

Tell busy Jewish defenders to take it easy and just make more Jewish kids and, especially, grandchildren. Now, that's a key challenge and a proper answer!

So all the doctors who say they’ve treated children shot in the head and heart by Israel snipers are lying, are they? And, of course the X-rays produced by the New York Times were fake. The New York Times says that it has the photos, but doesn’t think it appropriate to release them and of course you think they’re lying about that too.

and the women raped on 10/7 were really raped, the children beheaded were genuinely beheaded, the houses torched with sleeping children inside were definitely burned beyond recognition, and the stabbings and bombings have been a recurring theme for OVER 100 years, long before Israel reclaimed its heritage, its ancient dead sea scrolls, and its City of David.
