A brutal crackdown in Iran is largely going ignored by the self-appointed “humanitarians” of the West — but if Jews were involved, outrage would be instantaneous.

It is bizarre to see the hoops these hollowed out wrecks of once impressive journalism now go through to appease whoever on the wacky left is financing them. The really bonkers part is that these folks are so deep in their echo chambers that they may not even know how completely their reputations have been self-exterminated. If they even cared about resurrecting themselves from the propaganda graveyard at this point, it would take a generation of solid work to recover.
The New York Times and its like were never so wonderful. Look no further than how little attention they paid to the Shoah. Recall that the NYT forbade the name Abraham or its variant to appear on its writers’
identities—- they were limited to the letter A. And those are just simple examples. They are now what they were before, only more so.
If Hamas gave a single damn about its civilians, they could send them away from combat zones and none would be harmed. Gaza civilians willingly and unwillingly are enmeshed with terrorist paramilitaries and suffer because of it. The culture is a death cult and martyrdom is a badge of honor. Radical Islamic money builds tunnels and buys guns while sitting in the sun elsewhere. The only solution is eradication of Hamas. Calling IDF/Israel/all Jews genocidal is simple gaslight and it is the oldest sport in the world. If Tehran collapses, maybe maybe maybe the jihad movement will go quiet for a while.
And, now those Progressives are so confused. I mean, in June, they were screaming at Israel and the US “hands of Iran” and now that the people of Iran are rebelling against the ones they wanted hands off, their brains are exploding. And, that’s 2 in one week… after screaming “hands of Venezuela”, the US “kidnapped” Maduro, the Venezuelan people are celebrating in the streets of Caracas, as well as NYC and London and… well… it’s just another confusing moment.
WTF is wrong with these people? Is it just because the Jews aren’t in the headlines? (although, both Dercy claimed that the kidnapping had “Zionist fingerprints” all over it and the Mullahs are screaming that the Zionist Entity is behind the revolution.).
If challenged on why they don’t support the valiant Iranian dissidents or any righteous humanitarian causes other than Those involving Israel, I find that anti-Israel types say they feel responsible because the U.S. is so involved with
and contributing, to Israel. It’s a “not in my name” rationale for prioritizing their opposition to Israel. They don’t acknowledge the critical importance of Israel to the U.S. and the free world.
They are naming streets for Trump in Tehran… no way are American Progressives supporting the protesters. Which makes them , as you said, diabolically aligned with the wretched 7th century values of the Islamist regime.
If Trump intervenes and helps topple the tyrants it will be like the Berlin Wall coming down but Democrats are already criticizing Trump as a warmonger.

The story and its theme are the Liberation of the Oppressed, and the production always has three main players: the Western white savior who has devoted their lives to Justice and Equality, the Western-backed villain (who is some combo of Spanish conquistador, British colonist and American Klansman or German Nazi), who incarnates oppressive evil, and the brown-skinned victims, who may get a part for a leader or spokesman (as long as they promise to repeat their lines and not go off script), but who otherwise work as props and extras.
In the case of Iran, there is no easy role here for our star, the white savior with a heart on fire for Social Justice. Marching against a dictatorship is too basic, anyone can do that, even mom and dad, and also, since both sides here code as poor, brown and oppressed (Muslims always do in the West), they don't know exactly who they're supposed to fight, what they're allowed to say, and if they might be guilty of unintentional Whiteness. Thus the only recourse is silence.
The Western Left lives inside a Passion Play completely written, produced and directed by progressives and their well-funded media and academia wings, and if there's no juicy role for them to play the hero, they're not interested.
I think this also explains why they've had to create a completely fictional and mythological "Palestinian", who are just sad indigenous noble savages who only want their homeland back. If they had to face the truth, it would upset both their worldviews and self-conceptions, so instead they numb their brains with sterile jargon and thought-terminating jargon.
It's true. Activists in the West have a certain world view that meets their accepted narrative. The protests in Iran and celebrations of Venezuelans don't meet it so are too confusing. Happily for them here in the US a new issue has come along that does and that is keeping them busy. It concerns the efforts of the Trump administration regarding illegal immigration. It's keeping activists here occupied.
