All true. And the world’s motivation against Israel is not humanitarianism—it is antisemitism, pure and simple.

I have not once heard or read any media mention that the United States did not feed German civilians during World War II. Indeed, I know of no other instances where feeding your enemy has been done. Also worth noting is Egypt’s not assisting Gazans, not feeding them or at least letting them cross the border. Yet the media ignores this also. Perhaps there is another explanation than antisemitism, but I can’t think of one.

So why does Israel do it? Why does Israel feed its enemy and enable it to survive and continue to lose precious soldiers only to be accused of the barbarism its enemy is guilty of anyway?

I’ve known many over the years. Not a life I would want. And a wickedly wasted one at that. There have been many I could have hated but had no wish for it. And the final factual tragedy in the west is that so many performative pro pally protesters don’t see that they’re just prison officers at the mouth of Plato’s cave locking in the Gazans to their generational self inflicted genocide. They may walk talk bomb and shoot but they murder each other mentally at birth . Read Solzhenitsyn essays / lectures of the 1970s and you’ll get an even better view of how serious the situation across the warped west really is . Excellent commentary on the "food" situation. I have to say Israel made a huge blunder at the onset of this war to truck food into Gaza. Yes, Israel cares about life, we know all of that, but this is war, and it wouldn't have mattered if IDf soldiers spoonfed the children, the world would have found something, anything, to demonize Israel. Israel should have called them all out at the beginning. Since Qatar was "hosting" the Hamas Satans, they could easily have had food and whatever else was needed brought in. So could the UN, the Red Cross and all the other so-called humanitarian organizations. Now it's all too late for that and every day it's drummed into the weak-minded that Israel is starving children and women. But it is the UN who refuses to go in and pick up the acres of pallets of food to feed the people because the IDf are there. The IDF has no responsibiity to be sure the Palestinians are eating, but the lies continue. It's obvious now that it's not only certain Middle Eastern countries who want to see Israel's demise, but it's also many countries in the West going along with this hateful idea. Now Hamas refuses another ceasefire (also a ridiculous proposition), it's up to Israel to ignore the hate that is out there and finish the job in Gaza for once and for all.

From today’s WSJ

It’s notable that shutting down the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the new U.S.- and Israel-backed aid group, was the no. 2 item on Hamas’s list of demands in cease-fire negotiations on Thursday, according to a U.S. official who viewed them. Another U.S. official adds that the GHF has “caused Hamas more fear than anything else has in the past two years.” Whatever its flaws, the new aid group usually provides some two million meals a day directly to Gazans free of charge. That’s a threat to Hamas, which fired a rocket at a GHF aid site on Thursday.

The work of Hebrew University Prof. Yannay Spitzer is instructive about Gaza’s lack of supplies. He has tracked a steep rise in the price of flour in Gaza these past few months, reportedly reaching 80 times the prewar level in recent days. In an unremarked scandal, Gazans largely have had to pay merchants for United Nations aid, with Hamas taking a cut.

Israel says the aggravating problem this month hasn’t been the entry of aid, but what has happened after it lets the aid in—a sharp drop in its collection for distribution by the U.N. and others. A senior U.S. official agrees: “Huge amounts of aid, purchased by U.S. taxpayers, are sitting in Gaza or less than 2.5 miles away. Rotting. The aid-industrial complex has been refusing to distribute it,” he told us.

Until, that is, the past few days, after Israel shared videos of truckloads of aid waiting in Gaza for the U.N. and World Food Program. There were “entire days with zero (!) trucks of aid collected by international organizations,” an Israeli military spokesman wrote Friday. Only under pressure have the U.N. et al. dropped their excuses and collected 480 trucks’ worth since Monday, Israel said Friday.

This is another double-standard Israel is impaled on: their enemies get to play with no rules and go full Medieval whereas Israel is judged according to the standards of the most neurotic Western liberals, most of whom have never served in the military or missed a meal (or left campus), and who are desperate to find any cause that involves a suffering brown person, which allows them to perform their compassion and shed crocodile tears about strangers on the other side of the planet.

"Laws of War CLEARLY state you WILL administer civilians' needs in combat zones."

For the CLARITY of the "Laws of War," note Article 55 of the Fourth Geneva Conventions reads:

"To the fullest extent of the means available to it, the Occupying Power has the duty of ensuring the food and medical supplies of the population; it should, in particular, bring in the necessary foodstuffs, medical stores and other articles if the resources of the occupied territory are inadequate.

The Occupying Power may not requisition foodstuffs, articles or medical supplies available in the occupied territory, except for use by the occupation forces and administration personnel, and then only if the requirements of the civilian population have been taken into account. Subject to the provisions of other international

Conventions, the Occupying Power shall make arrangements to ensure that fair value is paid for any requisitioned goods.

The Protecting Power shall, at any time, be at liberty to verify the state of the food and medical supplies in occupied territories, except where temporary restrictions are made necessary by imperative military requirements." ~ https://www.un.org/en/genocideprevention/documents/atrocity-crimes/Doc.33_GC-IV-EN.pdf

Israel can only be said to be an Occupying Power in areas it is fully occupying. Those areas it is not occupying are either combat zones or territory belong to the belligerent forces, in. which case the conditions of Article 55 do not apply.

Always good idea to research your information lest you be seen to be "shooting from the hip."

👏👏👏 Amen, Joshua, Amen!!! This article needs to be read by everyone who works at the United Nations, in the press and the French government! Israel is under absolutely no obligation at all to send humanitarian aid to Gaza. Israel has no problem with the UN, other countries and NGOs doing it, but they were not gonna send any themselves. They also cut off electricity to Gaza. They don’t want to feed and give power to the enemy. Plain and simple, this is not hard at all to understand. The war and the terrible suffering of those who live in Gaza is Hamas’ fault 100% period. Israel stopped occupying Gaza over twenty years ago. They pulled out every soldier, every settler, exhumed the Jewish dead, etc. and then Fatah and Hamas destroyed the strip and turned it into one of the poorest places on Earth. A plurality of Palestinian voters elected Hamas in 2006 of their own free will. Many of them support Hamas and collaborate with them. They hope their children will die and become martyrs. This isn’t true of all the people who live in Gaza but definitely of a good chunk of them.

Hamas took over Gaza and turned it into an armed fortress and a base for terror and launched rockets at Israel day and night. They stole most of the humanitarian aid the world sent to the Palestinian people and used it for weapons, propaganda and building their network of tunnels under Gaza. Meanwhile, average Gazans starved, couldn’t find work, live in squalid conditions unfit for man or beast, and have no hope to make their life better or obtain upward mobility. They were brutally repressed anytime they “dared” to protest these conditions. Hamas has children help build their terrors tunnels, executes gay people, treats women as chattel, neglect and abused disabled people, practice 1950s Alabama style racial segregation, kidnap black Africans from their homeland and sell them as slaves, discriminate against and ostracize Christians, ban Jews from being citizens, throw acid in women’s face if they don’t wear the veil, do honor killings, marry off young girls to adult men, and so on and so forth. I could go on until the end of time.

You’re not angry at or blaming those people but your mad at Israel for not feeding them? You believe the UN’s bogus and totally incorrect numbers of children in Gaza “starving” which were probably made up by Hamas? If you don’t understand why Israel doesn’t feed or provide power for Gaza anymore, type October 7th into Google and then you’ll see why. Hamas raped young girls, burned whole families alive, cut off the heads of foreign workers, ransacked, looted and burned Kibbutzims, hacked elderly grandmas to death, kidnapped hundreds of innocent people to Gaza, sprayed playgrounds and highways with hails of bullets, chased down concert goers and gunned them down, shot dogs in the head for fun, and slaughtered Jews in pogroms. They filmed all this and posted it on the internet for the world to see. That’s what you folks in the international community and the press need to be outraged over. That’s who these people are. They are the modern-day Nazis. Millions around the world cheered what they did and thought it was great. That doesn’t anger you at all?

Hamas are savages with no soul or inner moral conscience to guide them. They sexually harassed young girls like Maya Regev and Mia Schem and laughed about it. They ganged raped young girls when they were alive and dead to humiliate them. They molested children, tortured hostages, drove around with the dead bodies of Israelis in the back of their trucks, blew people up with RPGs, and stole anything not nailed down. They were assisted in this endeavor by Islamic Jihad and civilian collaborators. Ordinary people in Gaza full of Islamist propaganda and hate robbed Israeli houses and businesses, raped Israeli women, took hostages of their own, and cheered Hamas on. They spat on the bodies of the dead and slapped, punched and kicked living hostages. Gazan children tragically even joined in on this sick orgy of sadism.

They did all this while claiming to be doing what God wanted them to do shouting “Allah Akbar!” meaning “God is greatest” in English. Really, you think that’s what your Heavenly Father would want you to do? You think Allah would be pleased to see the horrific acts you committed? You think the Prophet Muhammad or Ibn Khaldun would be happy with what you did? Also, to an extent we have to admit Islamism comes from Islam itself which is why the religion needs a reformation. Look, I care about the people of Gaza too. I don’t want them to suffer at all. But first we to correctly diagnosis what ails them. It is not Israel, it is the pestilential disease called Hamas-ISIS!

Expand full comment
Stephen Schecter's avatar

So how come Israel buys into this lie as well and rather than hold the Gazan population responsible for the mess and the hostages, Israel keeps harping on Hamas? Israel should long ago have demanded the return of the hostages, failing which Gaza would have been levelled and conquered and the so-called demented Palestinians locked down and ushered out. It still is never too late.

I totally agree with this blog but at the same time I totally disagree with it.

I must not think bad thoughts but it would have made more sense to apply hundreds of millions of dollars in defense aid from the US to have a secure border with Gaza on October 7 and mow down the militants at the gate than to justify starvation and too much indiscriminate mass revenge killing.

I don't mean to be the Monday Morning QB but it seems Israel doesn't have enough of them.

Much has been said about the way Hamas wasted the aid they received in order to conduct an insane genocidal war against the Jewish people rather than promote the well-being of Gaza. On the other hand, what happened to all the aid Israel received from the US for national defense? How does a modern army get overrun by hang gliders and light cavalry? Why is the Prime Minister of October 7 still leading this parade to nowhere?

Bibi called Oct 7 Israel's 9/11. 9/11 led to the wrong war in Iraq which created an Iranian client state there. It led to a fiasco in Afghanistan that achieved the very opposite of what was intended. Maybe think about that rather than shrugging shoulders at starvation in Gaza.

I've known hunger in my life. Anyone that has ever been hungry and has a shred of empathy would not want it for anyone else.

My empathy comes and goes. Sometimes my Zionism has it and sometimes it doesn't. I like to think my Zionism with empathy is my truly Jewish Zionism and my Zionism without empathy is just a kind of uber nationalism... an ideology that is closer to Islamo-fascism than different or better. That place where nationalism becomes a form of idolatry. G-d becomes a justification for our conceit, our fears, our rage.

As a recovering Kahanist there was a time in my past when I advocated online for one free parachute and one free plane trip over Jordan for every Palestinian. Hard to believe my insensitive plan for ethnic cleansing was more humane than what Israel is doing now.

When you dehumanize your enemy you dehumanize yourself. Fighting monsters has turned us into monsters. Starving children. Indiscriminate murder. This is not what I was taught in Hebrew school nor in my Zionist youth group. It can't possibly end well for us or anyone else and it has already ended badly for too many.

In Hebrew school I was taught that G-d wept after drowning the Egyptians because they were his children, too. We should be weeping not shrugging, not justifying.
