Very well said. Brilliant, in fact.

I concur entirely with this insightful article and your astute observations. The “Cause” is an overt recruitment campaign perpetrated by the Progressive Marxists to undermine Western democratic civilisation. Typical of subversive tactics, the Progressives are manipulating the oppressor narrative by promoting an unholy alliance with Islamic jihadists. The outcome will be devastating for modern tolerant societies, in particular Europe. The support for the Palestinians resonates with many younger generations because of woke causes such as critical race theory taught in schools, Western culture and history has been deliberately distorted to poison children against their country. Sadly the educational institutions responsible for nurturing future leaders is instead indoctrinating a generation of radicals to deconstruct the very society that established the freedoms and privileges that our ancestors gifted them. Nihilist progressives must first destroy everything in order to rebuild their utopia. Naively their unholy alliance with jihadists and its competing ideology will ensure the progressives are disposed of once Western civilisation implodes. The future will be Sharia law. On a side note for the author, I believe the intention of the Cause is to introduce antisemitism to an entirely new generation that, until the present, was spared from bigotry and discrimination. Regrettably, antisemitism is a core factor in the Marxist calculus of oppressor and oppressed. Ironically Israel, a nation oppressed in a region of intolerance, is fighting for Western values, and sadly Western societies are condemning our ally.

Excellent article and commentary.

Being "Pro-Palestinian" is a cover for anti-Jewish and Israel. These freaks aren't fooling anyone though they think themselves clever.

Clever Pseudonym's avatar

Unfortunately they're fooling many, especially the young, gullible and university-educated, who don't realize that their zeal and ignorance and vague desire to "make the world a better place" are being manipulated and utilized for nefarious ends. As long as the New Left still controls Western culture and education there will be plenty of new recruits for the Free Palestine cult. If even their Jewish professors claim Israel is evil, how can the claim be false? It's much easier to fool people (especially in our age of digital tribes and online dogma police) than to convince them they've been fooled.

Richard Baker's avatar

Agree. Self-loathing Jewish members of the professoriate don't realize the old saying that appeasing the crocodile is based upon the belief/hope that he'll eat you last.

I think the "young" are bing fooled by generalized revolutionary rhetoric. They have been indoctrinated to believe that terror and murder in a "just cause" is to be applauded. We have seen this before back in the 60's. No one believes the Palestinian movement is about peace and co-existence. It's about destroying Israel. These same "young" rail against their own country even though it makes their bougie existence possible and gives them the freedom to do so.

"the end result is the Construct of Israel." ?? Does this mean that Israel has been committing genocide since 1948? That is one long, slow genocide...

A genocide is the deliberate destruction of an entire people and can be easily disproved in this case: even taking the worst estimates at face value, no more than 5-10% of Gazans have been killed, far below the numbers of any prior genocide; there are no mass graves or mass murders typical of all prior genocides (the Nazis and Hutus killed more people in one day than have been killed in this entire conflict); if Israel intends to kill Palestinian civilians, why does it send Arab-language warnings to civilians before attacks? Why does it evacuate civilians through humanitarian corridors? Why does it send foot soldiers on dangerous missions when bombs dropped from the air can kill far more?

If Israel’s war in Gaza qualifies as genocide, it would constitute a striking historical outlier: perhaps the first such case of genocide triggered by a mass terrorist attack involving the slaughter of civilians and the taking of hostages; the first in which the genocider permitted food, fuel, and humanitarian aid to flow into the territory of its purported victim; and potentially the only instance in which the perpetrators lacked any prior plan or ideological commitment to extermination. It may also be unique in that the targeted group’s combatants have deliberately embedded themselves in civilian infrastructure and sought to increase civilian casualties for strategic and propaganda purposes. And it could be the only genocide that might plausibly be halted on the spot—not by the genocider, but by the group claiming victimhood.

"The killing started in the early 1900s..." Yes, what we think of as Israel v Palestine is essentially a Hundred Years War with no end in sight, but there's one important fact you're overlooking: Israel has agreed to every peace plan, while the Palestinians have rejected them all, while still refusing to recognize Israel's right to exist. Here's an edited list of all the times the Palestinians refused their own state:

1937: Peel Commission partition proposal, rejected.

1947: UN General Assembly partition proposal (UNGAR 181), rejected.

1967: Israel's outstretched hand for peace (UNSCR 242), rejected.

1978: Begin/Sa’adat peace proposal, rejected (except for Egypt).

2000: Barak/Clinton peace offer, rejected.

2008: Olmert/Bush peace offer, rejected. Olmert was prepared to give up territory in the West Bank, and allow some refugees to reclaim land. He was even willing to relinquish control of Jerusalem’s Old City to an international committee as part of recognizing Palestine as a sovereign state.

As for genocide, it has a specific meaning—the intentional destruction of a people—that has nothing to do with quantity of deaths, but with intent. The USA killed many more people in Iraq, as the Russians are doing now in Ukraine, yet no one raises the genocide charge. I don't know how long you've been following this conflict, but the Western Anti-Zionists and their Arab allies have been accusing Israel of "genocide" since at least the 1980s. People like Zohran Mamdani were accusing Israel of "genocide" before the IDF even moved into Gaza! This is not a truth claim but another weapon in the long PR war to delegitimize and destroy Israel. Gaza still has over 2 million residents, which would have to make it a very lively "mass grave". The only genocide here is in the Hamas charter.

"There has never been a permitted humanitarian flow into Gaza, that is a lie as you know."

A quick Google search refutes this obvious nonsense: "As of late 2025/early 2026, Israeli authorities (COGAT) estimate that over 25,700 to 29,600+ aid trucks have entered Gaza, with over 18,000–20,000+ containing food. Other reported aid includes 26+ million liters of fuel, 22,000+ tons of cooking gas, and 2,500+ tons of medical supplies." Also, Israel, alone in the history of warfare, is expected to supply electricity, water, and humanitarian aid to its enemies — during battle, no less. And the only country who sends humanitarian aid to people who just slaughtered, raped, and kidnapped their citizens.

As for "bombing unarmed civilians, killing 30,000 kids equates to mass murder..." First, that is an unconfirmed number, and cannot be trusted, especially as Hamas uses child soldiers and hides embedded inside and under schools, hospitals and apartment buildings. What you're missing here is that it is Hamas' professed strategy to get as many of their own people killed as possible, as a way to further delegitimize Israel.

Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh: “The blood [spilled] in the Gaza Strip, alongside the resistance and the [Izz A-Din] Al-Qassam [Brigades] (i.e., Hamas’ military wing), will defeat this occupier (i.e., Israel), will defeat this enemy… As I said, and I repeat every time, the blood of the children, women, and elderly – I do not say that it shouts out to you, but rather we need this blood so that it will ignite within us the spirit of revolution, so that it will arouse within us persistence, so that it will arouse within us defiance and [a forward] advance.”

Hamas leader Sami Abu Zuhri, living luxuriously in Qatar, admits that he just sees Gazans as cannon fodder in the war against Israel: “The house that was destroyed gets rebuilt, and the martyrs—our women’s womb gives birth again… Did you know the babies born in Gaza equals the number of martyrs in this battle?”

Hamas' ] Sa’id Ziyad: ‘We will fight using the flesh of Gaza’s children."

This also explains why they built hundreds of miles of underground tunnels but zero bomb shelters. And why they committed a massacre against Israel with no concerns about how much damage this would inflict upon their own people or territory.

The notion that it's evil Israel cruelly bombing "unarmed civilians" is a fantasy myth propagated by Hamas and its allies, especially considering that they started the war and they could have ended it any time by surrendering and releasing the hostages. They had their own territory for almost 20 years and did nothing but prepare for more terrorism: they don't want to build, but destroy.

And they are relying on their greatest weapon: parading dead bodies in front of gentle, gullible Westerners who are easily manipulated and who can't imagine a very different culture where people raise their children to think that the highest achievement is to become a shahid (martyr) against the yahudi.

These are all basic facts and screeching juvenile insults doesn't change them.

Who cares what you think. Since 1948 the Arabs have tried over and over again to destroy Israel. I guess Hamas using the Gazaniacs as human shields, endlessly attacking Israel, putting their facilities under hospitals, school, and mosques doesn't count. Guess you think Israel should NOT defend itself and just learn to die in place to make your kind happy.

Clever Pseudonym's avatar

The Palestinians have a wholly symbolic existence in the mind of Westerners, they are not people but a Cause, and the Cause is much more important than the actual people it claims to represent, which is why the welfare of the Palestinians is never a paramount concern for their Western wannabe saviors. The people can be failed or be killed, but the Cause must live on.

When chanting "Free Palestine" does anyone stop to ask—free them from what exactly? How could any Palestinian be free when they're ruled by a theocratic kleptocratic dictatorship? Is Israel really the cause of Palestinian misery or could it be the world's worst leaders combined with a culture saturated with toxic Jew hate? But to ask hard questions is to face a complicated reality, whereas to join a mob and chant simplistic slogans makes the chanters feel righteous and SEEN and morally superior to their political opponents, which is the main purpose of the Cause.

The Palestinians are simply the latest sacred victims of the Social Justice faith and the social media age, where the suffering of distant strangers is a valuable resource that serves as a trendy commodity for people hoping to get ahead by publicly atoning. The victims and their circumstances are mostly irrelevant, the real goal is for the Westerner to parade their moral vanity, display how kind, wise and compassionate they are and to appropriate the suffering of distant strangers in the hope of increasing their social and political power.

God protect all of us from ever becoming someone else's Cause! It might be worse than being their enemy.

A tour de force that in a just world would be published on the front page of the New York Times, the Washington Post or the Wall Street Journal! This article is the unvarnished truth with no lies detected! The Pro-Palestinian Movement is motivated by antisemitism and false propaganda. Those who are members of the Pro-Palestinian Movement are either antisemitic or misguided and misinformed. The movement is decentralized, disorganized mess with no clear leadership structure, principles or goals. It is plagued by the presence of antisemites and Jihadists within its ranks. The tactics its uses are all wrong and are divisive and repel the general public in the West from the Palestinian cause. The refusal to condemn Hamas and October 7th is a big strike against them as well. They also refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist and accept Zionism. Their biggest problem is to use a medical analogy; the movement has correctly diagnosed the ailment but has prescribed the wrong remedy. They see Israel as the source of all the Palestinian people's problems. Israel is NOT the Palestinian people's oppressor historically or in the present that would their own government and the Arab countries. But you never see the Pro-Palestinian Movement protest Fatah or Hamas or the apartheid system against Palestinians in countries like Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, etc. If they did, the Palestinian people would be a lot better off. If instead of elevating divisive and inflammatory voices like Noura Erakat, Norman Finkelstein, Rashid Khalidi, Ilan Pappe, Mahmoud Khalil, Abby Martin, and Nerdeen Kiswani and organizations like Within Our Lifetime and Students for Justice in Palestine, they would instead highlight and uplift Palestinian voices like Hamza Howidy, Ahmed Fouad Alkhatib, Bassem Eid, John Aziz, Mosab Hassan Yousef, and Mudar Zahran and they would call for the immediate release of the hostages and the unconditional surrender and disarmament of Hamas.

They would protest Fatah and Hamas and call for their toppling. They would call for peaceful dialogue, cultural exchange and peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians and the creation of a Palestinian state led by a secular, liberal democracy. They would call for greater economic cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians and for Israeli businesses in the occupied territories to hire more Palestinians. They would call for the Palestinian's leaders to quit with the terrorism and invest in education, healthcare and infrastructure. They would vigorously condemn October 7th for the atrocities they committed against Israeli civilians and soldiers and for the death and destruction they brought down on the people of Gaza. They don't do any of these things. The Pro-Palestinian Movement isn't so much Pro-Palestinian as they are anti-Jewish and anti-Israel. They don't care about the Palestinian people or at least not as much as they think they do. This isn't a movement for equality, justice and human rights. This is a movement about hating Jews and Israel. It's all about delegitimizing the nation state of the Jewish people. The BDS Movement instead of doing the logical thing and calling for boycotts of, divestment from and sanctions on Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, etc. they insist on going after the only Jewish state in the world and the only democracy in the Middle East. In the process, they cause Palestinians to lose their jobs. How can you free someone by taking away their means of feeding their families? That's not liberation, that seems like the exact opposite to me. They would be better served protesting the corruption of the Palestinian Authority, the brutality and repression of Hamas or the apartheid in Gaza against Afro-Palestinians. Those in the movement would do well to watch the footage of October 7th and documentaries like October 8th, Hope in the Holy Land, Screams Before Silence, and Surviving October 7th. I would also recommend to them the following books:

* Israel: A Concise History of a Nation Reborn by Daniel Gordis

* On Democracies and Death Cults: Israel and the Future of Civilization by Douglas Murray

* Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices by Mosab Hassan Yousef

* October 7: Voices of Survivors and Witnesses by Tal Chaika

* Testimonies Without Boundaries: Israel: October 7th 2023 by Alon Penzel

* Hamas: The Quest for Power by Beverely Milton-Edwards

* When the Stones Speak: The Remarkable Discovery of the City of David and What Israel's Enemies Don't Want You to Know by Doron Spielman

* Beyond Proportionality: Israel's Just War in Gaza by Thane Rosenbaum

* The Builder's Stone: How Jews and Christians Built the West and Why Only They Can Save It by Melaine Phillips

There is no Pro Palestinian Movement. There is a Destroy Israel Movement. Period. Everyone knows this. No one is so stupid as to believe that empowering Hamas to sacrifice Palestinian lives in their frenzy of Jew murder can possibly be helping the Palestinians. But that is not what the "movement is about." The goal is the end of Israel and they will fight to the last Palestinian the better to blame Israel.
