I hadn't heard the term "selective outrage" before, but it's exactly what's going on in the world these days. What you've said here is what I've been thinking for a long time now, and I thank you for saying it so well.

While I agree with everything Future of Jewish, you’re talking to people who already are on our side.

Why is the Palestinian message/propaganda so effective and ours not winning over people from the other side? If they don’t have outrage at Yemen or Sudan now how will they ever? We will not convince them by pointing out their hypocrisy.

The current issue of Saphir is about Jewish activism and it’s making me think… hearts and minds.

Antisemitism and hate are only up to half the motivation to be outraged by Israel and Jewish defense and retaliation. The other half (and often more) of motivation and behavior is the millions of years of biological inheritance of having to be Superior, Conquer, Win, Authoritarian, Dominate, (SCWAD). This comparative, competitive and often combatative framework is inbuilt in our biology. Cain killing Able is the first description of this biological inheritance.

Abraham set a framework of fighting and sacrificing male children is no longer necessary, but also against the NEW value of the Sacredness of Human Life, regardless of which race, culture or ideology one had. The Jewish concept of loving your children first, freed them from having to be submissive and obedient, to be creative and contribute to society.

Most of the world still wants to raise their self-esteem, mostly by Supremacy and Conquest. Without a country, (territory), for 2000 years Jews were an easy target, and in terms of numbers and small territory, other competitive cultures still predict an easy victory, and fight for their idea of honor, dignity and justice.

I almost feel sorry for poor Greta (almost). 20 years old and already a "has-been" with no other marketable skills except more yapping. Apparently, climate justice just doesn't pay what it used to pay. Unfortunately, the rent still comes due and there are groceries to buy. Time to make a splash and then set up a "Go Fund Me" page. Meanwhile, perhaps enrolling in the local community college or tech school would be a big help to your survival skills. You go girl and good luck.

You really put your finger on the hypocrisy that's involved in so much of the criticism of Israel. "Selective Outrage Syndrome" is the perfect phrase to describe it. It should become part of our basic vocabulary in current political discourse about Israel and antisemitism.

I read that Jews/israel should stop defending themselves with words but start attacking the lies. People like Greta are just being used by the media and the pro pali crowd. I wonder how much she even knows.

"'Pro-Palestinian' protests in the West have gone from inconvenient to dangerous. Ceasefire chants now routinely shut down bridges, storm synagogues, and harass Jewish students on campus. And they do it all with self-righteous fury."

And the authorities — the police and elected officials — look on, content to let the street mobs and campus radicals run riot, letting them know there is no price for violating the law, which only escalates their rampages even further.

To the guardians of public order and safety, heed the words of John Stuart Mill: “Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.”

"'Pro-Palestinian' doesn’t mean pro-peace, pro-democracy, or even pro-Palestinian. It means anti-Israel, and too often, anti-Jewish."

Sad when Jews cooperate in the purposeful dissimulation about Jewishness. Consider this,

If you say all adult citizens have the right to vote, oh, but not women. They belong in the kitchen. You are a misogynist.

If you say all adult citizens have the right to gainful employment, oh, but not Black. They belong on the plantation. You are a racist.

If you say all indigenous peoples have the right to their ancestral homeland, oh, but not Jews. They belong in Poland. You are not anti-Israel. You are an antisemite pure and simple.

I visited Israel in 2019 and I was surprised by how diverse it is, but when you say that to someone going on and on about apartheid, they pretend not to hear you.
