I'm so saddened by the American responses as depicted in this story. I Am Yisrael Chai. Israel has THE right (note I'm using the article 'the,' not 'a' right) to defend itself and her population.

Consider reading Thomas Friedman‘s article in the New York Times today. If the United states set guidelines for what a new government in the West Bank would have to do in order to have recognition and a relationship with Israel then there is a greater likelihood of success. In the long run an improved situation would be better for the Palestinians and better for Israel. If things improve economically for the Palestinians in the West Bank then countries like Saudi Arabia could participate in the revitalization. We have to be hopeful that change, even forced change for the greater good , could have more positive results. America is in the position to help facilitate such a change. Why not encourage it?
