A part of the problem, in my view, is that philosophy courses, which were once abundant in college curricula, are slowly being destroyed through attrition. It is in philosophy where students learn to become familiar with ethical theories and principles. It is also in philosophy that critical thinking skills and dispositions are specifically taught and emphasized. As mentioned in this superb article, these people who castigate Israel and Jews suffer from moral failure. The fact that their reasoning skills are so poor and that they cannot engage in rational debate shows a complete lack of critical thinking and independent thought.
