I really enjoyed this. It was interesting to read what was expected of the Muslims, and then to read Ahmed’s view of Israel. It must be really hard to be born into a Muslim family going back generations. The Quran teaches Muslims to convert and kill the Infidels. This is what Hamas are doing. They kill without remorse, and are not prepared to sit at the table and make compromises with the Israelis. I do hope that Ahmed will be able to one day settle in Israel.

Very nice, Joshua.

Love Ahmed. I only 'discovered' him now because I'm on Instagram. I hope he will remain safe.

Such a moving article! Why can’t the world reach out to these young people? We need to hear their stories.

Thank you 🙏 ❤️ "... if the entire world became Israel, we’d still be able to fall in love. To party. To dance. To hold hands. To go for a drink. To look after the vulnerable. To vote. To love and live under the rule of compassion and democracy. To have freedom of religion and freedom of speech."

Very thoughtful reflections, thank you. And that is why the Abraham Accords happened. As Bret Stephens commented on the pages of Commentary in the article titled Memo to President Biden: Please Don’t Mess Up the Abraham Accord’s: such success “is a story in three parts. The first is about the Arab world and its belated reckoning with the consequences of decades of domestic misrule. The second is about Israel, and the policies it pursued in defiance of relentless international condemnation. The third is about the United States, and what it can achieve when it abandons decades of conventional wisdom regarding the nature of the Middle East’s problems and the solutions to them.”

Sadly, Biden did mess it up...

It is heartbreaking how the voices of these people are silenced in the west or they are deemed not “proper” Arabs or Muslim. The racist discourse sees only one “authentic” Arab/Muslim identity, which is the one supporting western antisemitism. (This is not to say Islam cannot be antisemitic, but that only its antisemitic variants are acceptable to the west).
