It's not much different from the (also) state-funded CBC in Canada, which regularly reports Hamas press releases as truth, and very clearly harbours an anti-Israel bias. Both the BBC and CBC should have been defunded long ago. The great irony of the "progressives" is that they feel they are morally enlightened even as they scapegoat Jews and act as useful idiots for Islamic terrorists.

Unfortunately, the BBC isn't even the worst perpetrator of the antisemitic bias and canards you described; the New York Times probably is, followed by countless other media sites following in the footsteps of Goebbels:

Maybe because I hardly ever consume BBC, but I thought The Guardian’s Hamas reporting was particularly egregious. They often had multiple stories a day and after the first few months, they didn’t even feign journalistic ethics.

It got worse after ownership changed; it would be interesting to know who the investors were and how much of a stake the Qatari-funded shell company bought.

The Guardian is hard left, so they did not even feign journalistic ethics, as you noted. The BBC claims to be even-handed, has centrist readers, and thus they are way more pernicious and dangerous. Ditto with the NYT

https://www.camera.org/article/press-release-camera-responds-to-top-bbc-resignations/

November 10, 2025 – Two top BBC officials resigned on Sunday after an internal memo admonished the broadcaster for ignoring “serious and systematic problems” brought to the attention of BBC executives. The Telegraph published a copy of the memo days before the resignations were announced.

Among several categories of misreporting highlighted by the memo was the broadcaster’s misreporting of the Israel-Hamas war, and in particular BBC Arabic’s anti-Israel, pro-Hamas coverage. The memo’s discussion of BBC Arabic cited the Telegraph’s coverage last April of damning research by the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA).

A November 5 press release by CAMERA detailed the memo’s findings and CAMERA’s research.

In response to the resignations, CAMERA CEO Kurt Schwartz said: “CAMERA hopes that the BBC will seize this opportunity for meaningful change in its reporting on Israel and the Middle East. After years of documenting the BBC’s anti-Israel bias and failure to adhere to even minimum standards of fairness, balance, and journalistic ethics, CAMERA urges the BBC to chart a new course in its reporting and coverage. Its funding public deserves better.

“CAMERA also continues to demand a parliamentary inquiry, with real investigative powers, into BBC coverage of Israel in both English and Arabic. The Corporation’s track record when it comes to internal investigations, which is yet another instance of it ‘marking its own homework,’ is unlikely to yield useful results.”

How can that be changed

Not easily. Starting new media, Bari Weiss is a good example, fighting the media CAMERA, buying the media like Murdoch, and finally and ultimately Moshiach (Messiah) who will solve our problem and bring truth to the world:)

I wonder whether there is also an economic incentive that caused top leadership to dismiss concerns of anti-Israel bias. After all, Al-Jazeera routinely voices strong bias against Israel. Isn't BBC Arabic competing with Al-Jazeera for market share? It makes sense to give their listeners in the Arab and Muslim worlds the anti-Jewish bias for which they hunger.

There’s been increased British antisemitism as policy, other than the lone Churchill, ever since T.E. Lawrence began his seduction of all things Arab in WW1. Britain reneged on the Balfour paper and it’s been downhill for BBC and the empire.

I remember reading that Mr. TE Lawrence favored the Jews returning to their homeland and some form of autonomy or independence. am I mistaken....I need to recheck this.

He did, to an extent while working with Churchill on the partitions and new boundaries throughout the Mideast. But his sympathies were for the Arab factions. The years between the WWs began the turn of Britain polity against the Jewish return to the homeland.

That the BBC can no longer be trusted is a tragic loss for the world.

Communism was the cause in the 60s and 70s, until it was discovered to be a disaster for every society that tried it.

Let's hope the resurgence of anti-semitism dies a natural death when the contribution to the world of the Jewish people is appreciated, and that Israel is a net good for the world.

Islam is not a religion of peace but a cruel, violent, brutal and barbaric religion with few redeeming qualities.

When people realise this, it may help people realise they have backed the wrong horse when they champion the enemies of Israel.

Why is it suddenly necessary to have Drag Queens reading to young children at libraries and all sorts of other venues? Why aren’t Drag Queens demanding to read to the elderly in nursing homes? If you are unwilling to see the rampant sexualization of young children that has accompanied the social contagion of transgenderism in the last few years, no “references” will suffice for you.

That's acutally a very good suggestion...drag queens visiting cancer patients, HIV patients, the children at St Jude's with cancer, the children at Shriner's with physical challenges....there are so many venues for drag queens.....my local library has made a place for drag queen reading hour...if a parent approves of this....fine....

to borrow from M. Phillips it's "eye watering" the amount of bias. "Legitimate criticism" of Israel includes calls for its dissolution.....any discussion of "legitimate criticism" of Palestinian terrorist groups. the Pal Authority, Islamism, Islam, the Quran is all verboten. One can trash Judaism, the Hebrew Bible, the New Testament, to one's satisfaction....but never ever mention Islam except for its alleged perfection. So the BBC is indeed enthralled with "Palestine" and Islam.
