This is so right on the mark. A Palestinian state will never suffice. Name any Arab country that is a democracy! You can't- one does not exist- nor can it. Stop trying to fit a square peg in a round hole- it won't fit. Only a strong Israel will ensure existence for the long haul.

An Excellent Article, Nachum Kaplan! However, you write 'If the world recognized a Palestinian state tomorrow, nothing would change.' This is not correct. We monitored a young Anti-Semite who we think was recruited into MI6 here in London in 1983, who said (Quote): 'Once these words are said in the United Nations, that will be the end of them (Israel and The Jews)' So be under no illusion. Nazi Elements in MI6 want a Palestinian State, to then arm in its Genocidal War against us.

Request Spain and France to Unilaterally request the Basque Regions to secede and become new countries, see how that works out for you.

Excellent article. It has been clear to anyone who pays attention that a two-state approach will not work. It is a shibboleth for the Western government crowd who want to sweep this untidy mess under the carpet.

I completely agree, a two state solution will never work! However much land the Palestinian’s get they would still be fighting and killing Israeli's. It is a non starter.

Firstly, I believe that it is very immoral to give a state to people who are not a single people, who have done nothing to get closer to statehood, who do not recognize the Jewish state and do not proclaim it. They declare the murder of Jews and do not agree that even one Jew should live near them.

After the First World War, the victorious countries (these were colonial countries) gave the Arabs 22 states. Of these, only seven were located in territories whose indigenous inhabitants were Arabs. The remaining countries that the Arabs received to create Arab states were lands on which dozens (hundreds?) of peoples, nationalities, different religions and confessions lived. All this time, the Arabs oppressed, Arabized and Islamized these peoples. The forced renunciation of language and identity is something that Arabs practice at the government level. All these states are undemocratic, the population of which does not have basic freedoms.

Answer me this question: Why does the world need a 23rd Arab state, which will be much worse than those that exist? Why?

Will this make the world a fairer place? Will people live better? Will there be fewer wars? Or simply because someone wants to establish themselves in world politics by doing something stupid?

I only asked one question, but I have several.

It is becoming increasingly clear that the jihadists want only the total destruction of the state of Israel and the extermination (I'm sorry for using that word, but no other one seems appropriate in the circumstances) of the Jewish people. Equally obvious too is that once again the appeasers in the West will not only stand by and do nothing to help the Jews, they will also enable the jihadists to achieve their goal. Those countries calling for a "two-state" solution, including my own country, Ireland, will have the blood of millions on their hands, just as they did with the Nazis. Ireland's Vice-Prime Minister is currently touring the Middle East, but not even once has he been reported as calling on Hamas to release the hostages. Instead, he's happy to go on a tour conducted by those nice chaps in UNWRA/Hamas, whilst parroting their propaganda. He is an embarrassment and a disgrace. Israel needs to keep fighting until Hamas are destroyed, no matter what the hand-wringing pro-Pallies demand. The mobs on the streets and in the universities of the West are the direct descendants of the mobs in Nazi Germany who went along with that hideous regime. It is good to know that Israel retains its nuclear deterrent.

Back In 1967, a Palestinian state perhaps could have been established on the Westbank.

And perhaps it could have worked out for the best: a Jordan- like State, not the worst neighbour you can imagine.

But to much mayhem has happened since and let's be honest: de facto this territory has already been annexed by Israel with some patchwork where a vague and corrupt Palestinian regime has some authority, be it without much legitimacy.

Not exactly the interlocutor you need for establishing a new non- violent, rule of law neighbour state. It's a PR- bear-market at this moment for Israel anyhow, so this might be the right moment to settle this matter 'de jure' once and for all and make all inhabitants of the Westbank - in due time - citizens of Israel.

What a compelling article about the two-state solution that isn't a solution. Your point about the Middle East living by their cardinal rule of strength equals respect is so timely. Our present US government has shown weakness with Russia and Iran and we know what has happened since. It is such a basic concept when one sees weakness, they know it's an opportunity to take advantage and do what they want. Somehow that has eluded many Western leaders. Thank you for a most informative and thought provoking piece.

So many excellent points. Just say NO to a 2SS (yes, the acronym has a double meaning).

Your list of questions could be the structure for a different essay on the same topic of 2-state. State each question then answer in one or maximum 2 sentences. As it stands in this current essay you crisscross inconsistently trading France, Spain for Western. And or USA for Western or Democracy. And Israel for Jews. etc. Who is your audience???? Are you actually trying to convince anyone???

Hamas wants two states, one state for them (in which they would turn Israel back to desert and would back begging at the world trough) and another one to bury the Jews they murdered. Not very likely.

It's a shame that these distinguished world leaders did not read the Hamas charter https://avalon.law.yale.edu/20th_century/hamas.asp which states in the very beginning "Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it" (The Martyr, Imam Hassan al-Banna, of blessed memory)."

All these students who support the palestinians should educate themselves and their world leaders.

Secondly, when I try to understand the meaning of “creating two states for two peoples,” I am faced with the fact that those who promote this idea do not understand at all what they want. Not only do they not imagine the mechanics of the process, but they also do not imagine the result they expect. What they voice is similar to “And then there will be peace and prosperity” and looks frivolous.

Firstly, why do you need to create “two states” if one already exists. This is the state of Israel. And it is not for two nations, but for all the nations that live in it. And here I can’t get a direct answer to simple questions. Do they want to build a second state where two peoples will live, or do they want to build a state in which only Arabs will live? But then there will be one state for two peoples, and a second for one? Or do you want to destroy what exists and make it so that in one state there will be one people, and in another state another?

And here they have no answer. Because any of these options is either an admission of one’s bias towards the Arabs or a completely undemocratic, forceful solution that will never satisfy either side.

And at the same time, not one of the “architects” of these construction projects says that it is first necessary to eliminate the hatred, intolerance and hostility of the Arabs towards the Jews. By default, they believe that this will disappear as soon as the Arabs get a state. (at this point the first thing I think is: “Are they idiots?”, but I give them another chance).
