Any juxtaposition of Anna Frank with anything at all pertaining to Gaza is an abomination and an attempted debasement of both the Holocaust and the State of Israel, imputing the blood-libel accusation of " genocide" on Israel .

The photo of the Gazan girl should have been accompanied by a photo of Hamas, and the photo of Anna Frank should have been accompanied by a photo of Hitler.

Demagoguery is taking unrelated levels of multi-level issues and falsely presenting single items linearly as if they were equivalent.

Example of such fallacy, which counts on ignorance and stupidity :

The Nazis killed people.

Israel killed people.

Israel is Nazi.

Never again means:

no more Hitlers.

No more Hamas.

No more Amsterdam and/or Dutch Jew haters.

No more Jews slaughtered without appropriate response.

The Gaza war - a war, not a genocide- was and is justified. Israel was savagely attacked.

The Holocaust, a genocide, was not justified. The Jews didn't attack Hitler or Germany or anyone.

There are many levels and unrelated histories. The fraudulent propaganda simplification of these girls' histories shows the inhuman, both Orwellian and deviously

Machiavellian intent of the pro- terrorism and Jew -hating Soviet inspired demagogues.

With apologies to the great Dara Horn, if there is one thing people love more than dead Jews, it is defenseless ones.

Frédérique's avatar

Maybe a poster of Anne Frank & the Bibas children needs to be created to counter this imposter narrative With the added slogan that points out Hind was killed by Hamas not the IDF

Steve S's avatar

Good idea, except the haters would immediately take down such a poster, as they did the posters of the hostages, including posters of the Bibas children.

ASP's avatar

The posters wouldn't disappear if most of the people really were of goodwill. In that case, every one of them - starting with the government and churches - would put up posters themselves. So where is the city awash with such posters? Gasping when the few that are hung are torn down is fake and useless

In Ukraine it is two separate countries that people treat as one. There are still hard right "Action Brigades" and in the same country there are Jews, Christians and all others working and living together in peace!

I think that slowly the hostility against Jews is going away as they have a bigger enemy... The Russian Bear!

Enemy of my enemy is my friend still applies!

We must fight back with all our power against antisemitism; we must be in the face of this evil practice!

We are Strong. we are brave!

Let me tell you a story, when I was much younger in the US Army, I was stationed in Germany. I had leave coming up and I had a chance (very rare) take almost a month at once. I wanted to go somewhere unusual so I played what we used to call MAC Flight Russian Rolette! It consisted of signing up for 6 destinations and going wherever you got a seat. I got Incirlik Turkey, YUCK!

Well, I thought there is a lot of history so I got on flight then a bus in Incirlik to Istanbul that looked like the bus from the movie "Spies like us". The bus broke down in the middle of nowhere, nothing except some tribal herders. These people, that hardly had a pot to piss in, shared their food and a spot in the men's tent (smelled like goat butt). When they found out I was American everyone gathered and the one boy that spoke English translated while I told them about America. They were the kindest, decent people that made me feel like a star and they REALLY wanted to hear! Well, nothing the next day so they suggested that I go with them and they would take me to "town". It was one of the most interesting adventures of my life for three days. I will never forget those people and their kindness to someone who they would never see again. They knew I was a Christian and did not say anything, even offering privacy for my prayers (For some reason they thought that Christians prayed in private).

we can overcome our hatreds but not if we don't respect each other. Right now, the Leftists and the Evil Cult of Islam does not respect Christians and Jews. We must force them to change!

That way the world can be freed to a better future!

The saddest part of this travesty is that if people knew the lies that the Gazan's Hamas propagated they would turn on Islam in a moment! The Koran teaches Muslims that not only is it OK to lie to support Islam it is actually preferable because lying to the people that are non-Islam is Haram (Good).

In the hippy Leftist world of Amsterdam Jews represent power; so they are always wrong and lying! It does not matter what maligning lie the Islamists tell, if it maligns the Jews it will be repeated and amplified!

Once again, the answer is to get right into their faces. Make it so painful, cost so much that they stop and think...

Only then will the truth come out!

And will the people of Israel get the opportunity to tell world the truth!

Christians have a task, no an obligation, to support the Jews and Israel in this noble task. We must support with our lives if need be.

And this old Christian soldier is ready to pick up a rifle to support our brothers and sisters the Jews!

God Bless Greater Israel and the USA!

They know, and they don't care. They think it will never affect them.

Daniel Dagovitz's avatar

Jeremy, I cannot believe that there are that many wholly evil people?!

In Denmark, just the next country over, the most successful resistance to Hitler took place. Non-Jewish Danish citizens wore the Jewish Star, defeating Hitler's identification of Jews for abuse!

It will take that type of "in your face" resistance to stop the Leftist lies and Evil Islam!

Jeremy Wickins's avatar

I used have the same opinion, but I've had too much experience now. I don't think it is evil per se (depending on one's definition), but a combination of:

- not believing that most people take holy books seriously any more, and those that do are few and incapable of (lasting) harm.

- believing that any holy book contains so much that anything can be twisted, and that the Koran is unfairly targeted for this so as to treat Muslims badly.

- believing that, historically, the Western world today is the rule, not the exception, and as such is going to protect them from harm.

It's rampant stupid ignorance, rather than evil, but at the scale it is operating at, perhaps there is no significant difference.

Daniel Dagovitz's avatar

What shames me the most is that it is my people, the Christians, that are turning a blind eye to antisemitism. When I went to college no one would have dreamed of the type of lies propagated by the Left and the (ECI) Evil Cult of Islam. We must be "in your face" with our resistance; if they post a poster with lies tear it down! If they try to disrupt a Jewish event both Jews and Christians need to kick some azz!

I think you may be correct regarding "In your face" tactics.

Dara Horn couldn’t have made this stuff up when she published the book “People Love Dead Jews” back in 2021.

Horn has been proven wrong, as your own photos show. They hate us dead just as much as when we are alive.

Wonderful essay. The Jew-hate clan (or "klan") love to show inflammatory photos and repeat endless poetic slogans, yet were the first to tear down any photos of the hostages. Hitler must be proud.

Observation of a Dutch jew living in Amsterdam for the past 19 years 🙋🏻‍♀️ Antisemitism has never left the Netherlands. And after the 7th of October the pink glasses are removed for the younger generations of jews living here. It seemed long gone, and especially in a city claiming to be tolerant, but we see what is happening around us. The Dutch culture is: 1. not generous towards others (why everybody thinks the Dutch are cheap) and 2. nobody likes to stand out in the crowd. So the silent majority that is not antisemetic and/or understands the situation in Gaza is not as black and white as it seems. Is currently confused, uninterested and does not speak up for their jews. We have a few brave people speaking up. But we are the canaries in the cole mine at the moment. We are accepting our new reality and cannot and will not unsee or unhear the things that happened in the past 2 years. And we are shocked by the role mainstream media has played in confusing people.

Daniella's avatar

@Rivka did you see the use of the Anne Frank banner also by the progressive mom and her two sons at the Red Line demonstrations? We were mortified over here

Rivka Hellendall's avatar

Ugh, so vile. It all just goes to show that locals have completely lost their mind to postmodern anti-Israel lunacy. Say what you will about the challenges of living in Israel, but at least we haven't collectively lost our grip on reality!

Daniella's avatar

Completely agree with you. The West needs to get its grip together and Western Europe needs to take an example out of Eastern Europe. Enough with the virtue signaling and more truth and facts.

Shortly after the attack on the Maccabee fans, I watched an AJC Zoom interview of European Jewish leaders, including the editor of the Dutch Jewish newspaper. The editor said she saw no future for the Jews of Holland and advised the young and those with families to leave.

A few days later, on social media, I saw several postings from Israelis about the best places to move to in Amsterdam as though nothing had just happened. I was struck by the difference in tone between the two. The Dutch Jews who lived there for generations were in despair and advising people to leave while Israelis were planning to move there.

Liat Kirby's avatar

Such an excellent piece of writing. Thank you. That's it's tongue in cheek in places only goes to highlight the hypocrisy and superficiality , indeed the exploitation, that is Amsterdam today.

Bonnie Geller's avatar

Amsterdam never lost its hatred of Jews, even right after the Holocaust when they refused to allow Dutch Jews to claim their homes and property unless they paid for all the back taxes supposedly owed by them, while in the death camps. Jews somehow feel that ethnic Europeans, Americans, Canadians and Australians really care about the Jews in their countries. It is an incredibly naive and dangerous point of view. In fact, the silence from the large majority of non-Jews shows that by their silence, they support the hatred but are too timid to show it in public, but have no qualms on social media, and being passive-aggressive in the workplace, as well as schools and universities against Jews. The churches by far support the hatred as well, although they mumble how shocked they are when there are massacres of Jews, and two days later, continue to incite hatred against us.

It's heartbreaking 💔 that the ✡️ population of the 🇳🇱 are experiencing rampant antisemitism 😭🤬💔💔💔

I have a close friend who lives outside of Amsterdam. I'm going to share this article with her. She keeps me informed of what she's experiencing It's tragic 😥 💔

Daniel Dagovitz's avatar

Elayne, antisemitism is not a disease, you don't catch it like a cold! They are CHOOSING to be antisemitic! Do not forgive or sympathize with them, they are becoming haters!

Of course, there are good people but they must ACT to stop antisemites in their country otherwise they are complicit!

This is projection at work again. The Dutch were complicit in Nazism and the Genocides. Jews and Israel are a very convenient off-loading of this guilt. The false narrative of Arab powerlessness in Gaza is a way of saying, ‘We were Nazis. Well, Look at what Jews do.’ Their Fascist party under Kurt Wilders is the biggest in their Parliament. The reality is that tacit racism is what is actually at work here, whatever the (valid) worry about Demographics.

N van Beek's avatar

You mention GEERT Wilders - not Kurt) and he is an absolute openly right pro-Israël supporter!

Dan's avatar
Jan 5Edited

What you say is true! Wilders is absolutely NOT a Nazi. My apologies if I seem to suggest he was. This was not intended. Best Wishes.

Daniel Dagovitz's avatar

Dan, I do however think you are on to something with the off loading of guilt idea!

Gail's avatar

He is FABULOUS!

Isn’t it ironic that the safest place for Jews to live and thrive in Europe is Hungary and both Orban and Wilders are labeled “ Nazis”?

That the most pro-active, pro-Israel, Jewish protective American President historically is Trump and the most Jewish friendly state and governor is DeSantis and they are labeled “ Nazis”?

Isn’t it ironic that the majority of Jewish New Yorkers voted for Mamdani, the first action he took after being sworn in was to strip all of the protection for Jews put in place by Eric Adams and Adams is the “ Nazi”?

קרן ויצמן's avatar

Geert Wilders is maybe on the right, but nothing a fascist. He is the most loud and stout defender of jews and Israel. The fascists you will find on the left.

Dan's avatar

Thank you for this. I think Wilders’s politics has changed from when he emerged twenty five years ago. But, yes, I agree, Wilders is not Antisemitic. But he is VERY right wing.

קרן ויצמן's avatar

Right wing is NOT a automatic synonym for fascism. Fascism can be both on the right and the left. It centralizes state control, which you will find much more on the marxist "globalist" european left today.

ASP's avatar

"fascist" is a wildly thrown about term . Most who use it would be hard put to give a precise definition. It should be abandoned.

Dan's avatar

I look at the classification as to who glorifies violence in the streets and the use of intimidation and then genocide of their opponents. In this, Fascists are mostly found at The Far Right.

קרן ויצמן's avatar

Again, I cannot agree with you on this in regard to present events, although it might have been correct in the past. The violence we have seen in the streets in past 2,5 years, the violent demonstrations and, in fact, call for violence (genocide/aka intifada) on the jews("Israel") has been fueled mainly by left-wing political components. At most we may see happening now a U-pattern where far-left and far-right meet on "woke" matters.

Dan's avatar

I might agree. But only Hitler and the Nazis exterminated whole peoples with the basis being Race. Certainly Stalin killed for reasons of Class, the Holomodor in Ukraine being such a case.

Dan Dagovitz's avatar

We should ot be trying to "defend" Jews defending themselves; we should be loudly supporting Israel's destruction of Hamas along with ANYONE that acts as an enabler fpr them.

Hamas musr be COMPLETELY destroyed and the people in Gaza disarmed or removed from Gaza which should then be incorporated into greater Israel!

Time to stop playing nice!

I liked Amsterdam, and the rest of the Netherlands, when I visited c. 2000, but it's too small a country to be filled with so many plazas filled with so many hateful mendacious signs. A nauseating read.
