Starting from what we already know .. the UN is a waste of space. Politically corrupt and inept.

Only yesterday President Sissi said .. ‘Palestinian cause remains the foremost priority in the Middle East, describing it as the cornerstone of regional stability and a prerequisite for a just and comprehensive peace’. What a load of nonsense .. Egypt’s border is firmly shut to the people of gaza, and Egypt’s dictator overthrew elected Morsi and banned the Muslim Brotherhood. The Arab world has never tried to help the so called palestinian people.

The Arab world, with Turkey and Iran, are nothing but a pack of duplicitous muslim states with their own issues of secular vs islamism, sunni vs shia, and as history shows, are far from trustworthy. Trump’s Board of Peace is wishful thinking.

Jordan is the country that was created from 78% of what was the British Mandated part of the 500+ year old Ottoman empire, and is the ‘second state’ of any two state solution. The so called Hashemite kingdom is a British creation, and its people are majority palestinian. Jordan created the West Bank when it occupied the land from 1948 to 1967, during which time there was no world notion of a state called palestine .. that only happened after Israel took back what should be known as Judea and Samaria, which is part of Israel. The Board of Peace should use their vast billions in cash to move the arabs of the west bank to homes in Jordan and other willing Arab countries.

Judea and Samaria belong to Israel, and then the Arab world can carry on their fight amongst themselves and leave the Jewish state to live in peace. Amen.

Fascinating! I don’t think many people have confidence in the UN. It is totally corrupt and ineffective. I think you may be right!

I disagree with the thrust of this article. Gaza is not really important real estate. Pipe lines and freight lines can run through the Negev to Ashkelon. It is estimated that the reconstruction of Gaza will require 70 billion dollars. Who is going to invest 70 billion dollars in Gaza? The Board of Peace will morph into another UN committee where members can see and be seen.

"Consensus?" The UN is a body of the world's despots and dictators secular and religious. "A replacement for the UN would not be without risk. Concentrating power, prioritizing influence, and sidelining consensus can lead to abuse." We already have the abuse from Turtle Bay and maintaining that disaster screams for change. The UN needs to join the League of Nations on the historical trash heap as well as the European Union.

Bernie, there already is a Muslim world wide invasion of Western countries.

Nonetheless, the prototype for Mr. Trump's Board of Peace is the Board of Peace for Gaza which is a non-starter for Israel. Contrary to Trump's declaration, there is no peace in the Middle East and certainly not for Israel. So when Israel conquers Gaza and annexes it we shall see what the Gaza Peace Board has to say, not to mention the non-existent SDF with Turkey, Egypt, Qatar and the Palestinian Authority all claiming right and readiness to participate in running the Strip, though all are enemies of Israel. And we shall see if Israel preempts matters by ignoring transactional deals with Muslim Arab countries that have no love for it and no courage to make peace with it. All there international bodies wind up being ways bigger powers screw smaller powers. Israel should give itself a different destiny.

You are assuming that Trump well be sincere and visionary. The most realistic outlook is one that he already mentioned, in a moment of honesty. that I am sure he hoped no one would remember. It outlined his "vision" of Gaza that included a "seaside resort," . I , and most others assume that he is planning another golf piece to his kingly "empire." If a snake talks like a snake, believe him. He also talked of removing all Palestinians, a typical trump solution to whomever he finds standing in his way of a whitened community. It is a subject not even mentioned in this list of plans. Witness his behavior with the immigrants he deems deportable here, even if citizens, and the arrest of native Americans . Remember the snake, Please.

I'm not assuming anything, just calling it like I see it. I prefer to judge politics looking back, not projecting what might or might not happen in the future.

Replacin' the rotten UN--I'm all fer it! However creatin' a "Board of Peas--i.e. A'PEAS-mint!" an' includin' on it Israel's mortal enemies seems ta be more've a DJT NoBell DingDong Prize effort than a real way ta make progress & figger out Gaza (an' the "poor" guzzlins still livin' precariously... ) with HamAss still "locked 'n loaded" (all senses of that last woid...). First on the agenda (AGENDA!) is decidin' the fate of Gaza an' with a team like that...it don't bode well fer Israel. Bibi agreed ta this? Feh! (sorry I cain't git all werked up 'bout Donnie's Dinner Pahrty an' no I don't have TDS but he'z been playin' fast & loose with Qatar, Saudis, etc fer too long fer me ta jus' "trust the plan.")

If we completely disregard Biblical prophecy, your comments make a lot of sense. I agree the world believes what you say. But I live in a Kingdom, serving the Messiah.

What exactly is the purpose and scope of power of this board? That is still unclear to me. It's to provide leadership for Gaza minus Hamas? It's to begin rebuilding Gaza? Has so much attention ever been granted to such a tiny and poor land? Putin? Ergdogan? Gutr? I love how Germany , France are not involved or effing Israel hating Norway and Sweden. Cyprus is still occupied by the neo nazi Ottoman sultan...fait accompli and not likely to change for a unified Cyprus. No one cares about apartheid N. Cyprus colony. Greece had best get cozy to Israel if it wants to keep its islands closest to Anatolia. The Greeks call the loss of Smyrna their catastrophe. What's the future ? Even the Islamist mayor , not my mayor, of NYC can't bring himself to recognize Israel. M Khalil is a "human rights activist." I hear his deportation to Algeria is imminent . That would be a small victory. Until a DSA/Dem party president welcomes him back and awards him a medal for his "activism." Maybe Little Jacob can put the medal around his neck.

I have little faith that the Board of Peace will amount to nothing more than to empower the countries involved against Israel. The foxes are now in charge of the hen house with Israel the one voice among them. What I see after reading this is that Qatar has done its job of influencing Trump and US policy, one of the main reasons for the 'hands off' policy on Iran. Just like with Hamas, all bloviated threats and then nothing. A railway across borders seems a dangerous undertaking, if it should ever happen. It would be a great way to allow terrorists, explosives and anything else to make it's way to Israeli borders. And, as for that bloated UN building and its overpaid do nothings in New York, it should have been imploded years ago. Why not include a new UN building in Gaza with all the renewal that will be taking place? Without the influence of Qatar, I truly believe Trump's ideas and policies would have looked a lot different towards Israel, Gaza and Hamas. His trip to the Middle East in early 2025 showed a marked difference in his attitude, and thanks can be given to Steve Witkoff, who owes his life to Qatar for paying off his debt. When Trump calls Erdogan, al Sharaa, al Thani family allies, there is something that is beginning to smell at the top. As Trump declared eternal peace in the Middle East shows a president who needs an intense refresher course on the area.

Why can’t Saudi Arabia assist the Palestinians? Why not Egypt? Why not the Jordanians, or the Iranians, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, Qatar, and all the other countries in the region, what does it have to do with any western country?
