I’m a big Trump supporter but now I classify him like you said with Obama and Carter. It’s the 25th mile of the marathon and he’s quitting all because of political reasons. Shame on him I’ve lost all respect for him unless there’s something I don’t know about. I agree 100% ..if there is no regime change all of this has been for nothing.

Iran was in deep trouble economically and weakened militarily. If the IRGC cannot be paid, regime change would follow I think. If the upcoming agreement returns $25B of their frozen assets, then the entire operation since June 2025 has been a waste.

I feel for Israel. They learned they cannot trade land for peace with a terrorist organization dedicated to their complete destruction. They will be stuck fighting Hamas and Hezbollah and Tehran for the foreseeable future, while Iran returns to development of a nuclear bomb.

'land for peace' are the terms of an unconditional surrender.

and the only possible reason to have to allow it imposed upon any sovereign entity.

His personality alone is enough to put me off. Unfortunately, the American Democratic Party has become a small sect of IRGC, not quite as murderous, yet!! What happened to good, honest and compassionate leadership? It doesn't appear very common across the planet, include my own country. (Canada)! Is it the water we are drinking or is it the dope that is being taken?

The good news is Mamdani is ineligible for the presidency.

Trump could change that if he wanted. Don't give him any ideas. New Yorkers have to rise and rid themselves of this dangerous man before it is too late! But is there anyone who could take over and repair the damage already done?

I'm going to hold off commenting extensively until I find out for sure what the actual document contains. I don't believe what Iran has been saying. However, having said that, if Trump does give Iran money then he will lose the house and senate in November and he will most definitely be impeached and thrown out of office. Let's hope that's not the case. let's wait and see.

The New York Post writes that Trump will be unfreezing $25 billion in Iranian assets.

Maybe we should keep that money and put it into our military. Could use some extra missiles for when Iran acts up again.

Peter R Kohli's avatar

Yes, I saw that. But it also did say after the piece that it was according to Tehran. Let's wait and see. As someone who voted for Trump in every election, I have faith that what is being reported is untrue. Trump has said so. But if it's not............

Judith Ross's avatar

The $25 billion should be distributed to the real Iranians to overthrow the IRGC!

Not only that, he has declared a complete cessation of fighting in Lebanon and demanding a complete withdrawal from the country in a total surrender and humiliation of the only real ally we have left in the world, Israel. They now must continue dealing with the proxies with Turkey looming in the not distant future with a hostile U.S. President lashing out in public. Remarkable. He turned from being the best President in history for Israel after October 7th into the worst, in a blink of his foolish eye.

I just commented on the agreement. Yes, he’s an absolute moron. He has singlehandedly destabilised the Middle East. He’s played into Iran’s hands and abandoned Israel. I will guarantee that within the next few months the entire region will be engulfed in a disastrous war because of his stupidity. We have to get him to resign somehow in disgrace. The art of the deal, my foot. My second grader could do better. Yes, America capitulated to Iran. Simple, they won, America lost.

The unchill filtered Zionist's avatar

Only Trump or one of his sycophants would spin this as anything more than a complete capitulation. The Fart of a Deal should be his next book.

Judith Ross's avatar

It seems he told Israel not fight back is Hezbollah keeps sending rockets and drones. That proves what I have said, Trump will drop Israel if they don't kowtow his wishes, even if thousands of Israelis are killed or maimed. He only wants that IgNobel Peace prize.

Peter R Kohli's avatar

He will never get a Nobel Prize unless he steals it off a legitimate winner!!!!!!

The Mad Mullahs and the IRGC need to begone and dead. My solution to help the Iranian people overthrow these thugs is to airdrop pallets of AKs and plenty of ammunition all over the country and which I've sent this message to President Trump online.

As plain as the nose on your face. You can’t stand that Bibi is fighting back against Israel’s enemies and protecting Jews.

I am no support of Trump in many ways, and being Canadian, I really don't think he is what he thinks he is, "Saviour" of the world. I fear for the future for all of the Mideast. As long as the present government is in charge, no one is safe, the good people of Iran who have suffered since 1979, the UEA, Lebanon, and of course, Israel, the land of our indigenous People, Jews. I fear that signing a "peace treaty" with a government that kills citizens easily, by shooting them in the streets, hanging them in public squares with a forced audience and make people accept a faith and life style they do not want. I fear for Israel, because this treaty will embolden Hezbollah and they will continue to endanger the lives of Lebanese, and continue to attack Israel. Hamas will rise again and continue their onslaughts on Israel as commanded by their charter. Europe and North America will feel the rising of radical Islam and streets will be filled the "faithful" with their rear ends up and the local authorities will be too frighten to break these mobs up. Sharia law will become part of the western world and another 400 years of Islam will destroy civilization as we know it. I am old, but this is not future I want for my family and their offspring, etc. Trump thinks only of the possible award of a Peace Prize, and like Arafat who also got one, are not worthy winners.

Finishing off Iran is no easy task. At a minimum, it would require a ground invasion of Iran and a naval blockade of Iran’s ports. We are not equipped militarily or politically for such a long and grueling war. It’s best to take what we have achieved as a partial victory for the region.

Ezekiel Detroit's avatar

Iran is doing it differently than Jesus. They are turning both cheeks to us while bending over. They are cunning to stall for midterms.

The unchill filtered Zionist's avatar

This is so depressing for those of us who have been thoroughly duped by this President. One of the biggest losers politically in this will be Marco Rubio who undoubtedly lost the ear of DJT to JD Vance and his Tucker Carlson cabal. I wish he would resign and begin his campaign immediately after the midterms thanking the President for the honor of being Secretary of State in a dignified way which Trump does not deserve. He will ultimately be thrown overboard ala Mitch McConnell, who saved Trump's ass in the first term legislatively, only to be run over.

Trump should learn a lesson from Israel: go in, finish the job, get out. No matter what is negotiated, Iran will never fully comply; that should be considered a given.....they are laughing at us. Let us also not forget that China is somewhere inside this messy equation......and of course there is that looming issue of those pesky mid-terms. We cannot know what we don't know.

Another war monger eager to expend US blood and treasure while he remains comfortably isolated in his ivory tower.

Let's be clear. Defeating Iran would require a large ground war that would inevitably mean thousands of US casualties, and the US has already expended a considerable amount of money and armaments on the current war, with a resulting substantial depletion of its stock of armaments.

Albert Cory's avatar

Anyone who says "finish the job" should be handed a weapon, a helmet, and sent to the front lines. You're awfully brave with other people's lives.

Speaking as a Jew, the government of Israel is broken. Why don’t you end Bibi’s regime and then we’ll talk.

B.'s avatar

Oh, God, the old "speaking as a Jew" shtick.

I just wanted people like you to know that American Jews like me don’t approve of what Bibi is doing to the world to keep his own narcissistic ass out of jail.
