The Jewish people, who spent 2,000 years praying to return to Jerusalem, need a reminder never to be silent. To speak up in support for Netanyahu, who today is fighting for Israel's survival.
Complacency breeds contempt. This means that complacency causes us to forget the source of it all and expect everything to remain the same regardless and everything we do is what WE did instead of remembering the old saying "Praise God from whom all blessings flow."
America itself is seemingly dying because they've turned their backs on the Holy One. Hard times come to bring the people back. Our reliance on the Lord, in good times or bad is where we must always be. All things belong to Him. Thank you Joshua for your Torah truth.
What issue? The issue is that you don't know the Scriptures, you take a single verse out of context and build your whole case on it, you don't know the God of the Bible, in fact you hate Him, you're not interested in getting to know Him, you are not interested in any background - you just think in your incredible arrogance that you can sit in judgment on a holy God. As for substitutionary attunement, who says it's disgusting? The wages of sin is death. Adam and Eve were warned in the Garden of Eden that disobeying God would bring death, and it did - with all its attendant miseries and disasters. The only way for sin against God to be atoned for is by a blood sacrifice. Jesus Christ is the only One Who can be that atoning Sacrifice, so He is the only Saviour. If you reject Him, you will have to pay for your own sin yourself - with your own eternal death, and all that that means. The basis of sin is not whether someone tells a white lie or murders someone; it is more fundamental than that. It is the deliberate conscious decision of any human being to choose his own will over God's will. All sin comes from that same root, expressed in different ways, some socially acceptable and some not.
Jewish content in one's homes. When I was a kid, there were playmates who were from either 2 Jewish parents but atheist and communist and mixed households atheist and communist... neither of which had any reference to Jewishness in any shape manner or form. And I figure there are many many such families today....with the result....if not now, jvp, and in Israel b'tselem. I wonder how many Israeli Jewish households lack anything symbolic or otherwise of being a Jew.
