Joshua, I believe your essay misses, a critical point. As you have not lived in the US for some tike, you may not be perceiving as acutely as many of us here do the alarming assault of the current US Administration on Constitutional protections and the rule of law. I have zero quarrel with deporting Khalil if he is guilty of actions that justify this under American law. But I am not willing–nor in my view should any American be willing–to cede such as decision to the whims of the Executive branch, absent due process. This Administration has repeatedly demonstrated that it believes itself to be above the law. That is the philosophy of emperors and autocrats. Today they may choose deport someone we gladly would like to see gone; tomorrow it may be our family members, friends or us. We allow the debauchment of our Constitutional checks and balances at grave risk

Ehh… I detest Khalil as much as the next guy, but deporting a green card holder without charging him with a crime, even if technically legal, hasn’t really been done before and would set an awful precedent.

A great precedent. You come here to tear down our country, you’re out of here.

Had Biden deported him we might have a Democrat in the white house and I wouldn't have to be fighting for my food stamps

Thank you. "...The Palestinian flag, once a symbol of a localized territorial conflict...". I think the colors selection on the so-called 'palestinians' flag are colors which represent Caliphate and Jihad "method to their madness". On the theme of the pre-deportee-in-waiting: 3 minutes video. her 1st minute is to simply set the stage. she's done a brilliant job!!!!! https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1B5Cc6cL3L/

Khalil based on his emotional with UNRWA a Hamas front and his stated views that he was intent on destroying Western civilization America and Jewish communities and his role in the riots at Columbia should never have been given a green card

Agreed and well said. But there is one thing you forgot to mention. Khalil was not a student at the time of his demonstration and arrest. Thus he was an outside agitator come to campus. As such he should be arrested.

Disagree — he wasn’t falsely yelling “fire” in a movie theater. The problem is just WHO decides what is permissible speech?

And I’m an ardent Zionist. Like, fuck the Palestinians they’ve made it clear destroying Israel is their goal ardent Zionist.

Yes, it's amusing watching self-proclaimed "pro-American" far right antisemites shilling for the likes of hamas and Iran. They say Jews are responsible for the massive muslim immigration into the west but when you explain that the people promoting muslim immigration are the same ones who march for hamas and Jewish genocide, that western governments who allow massive muslim immigration into their countries are the same ones that have anti-Israel policies, they have no response. Far right antisemites apparently don't realize that they are on the same side of the forces who want to destroy western civilization and Christianity.

.................................................................................................................................................................................................

No real Americans would ever side with the Palestinians against Israel — unless they are mentally deranged, utterly brainwashed, suffering from a concussion, or using some type of psychedelic drug. Aligning with a “cause” that has produced nothing but violence, instability, and terror is a direct betrayal of American values and security interests.

The ultra Left Dems have tried to immerse themselves in every decision the administration has tried to initiate, and Khalil is only one of them. Until he's on a plane out of the US, I will sit and wait to see how it pans out. Democrat federal judges have been trying to block many decisions. Of course, there will be appeals, but that causes delays. A federal judge just stopped the flights of the brutal Tren de Aragua gang sent back to Venezuela. You say that, "Discriminatory harassment, targeted threats, and incitement to imminent violence are not covered by free speech protections," but they were for pro Palestinian protesters who were protected for all of them. The only reason Columbia suddenly woke up was because they would be losing $400 million of funding. And miraculously, they began suspending or expelling and revoking degrees of those students who were involved in taking over Hamilton Hall, destroying property, and hanging Intifada signs. Khalil has his band of groupies protesting on the streets who are the probably the same as those at Columbia. This is what we have become n the West, jumping on the bandwagon for thugs, terrorists, and a government that wants to do something about it. Will the Lefties in the West ever regain their sanity, or will they continue to drown in the muck and mire?

Yay! Of course you're right. "America was founded on principles of liberty and justice, not as a sanctuary for foreign radicals who exploit its openness to undermine the very freedoms we cherish." Love that sentence. Mostly, it's the brainwashing of the far Left (useful idiots) who make a lot of noise. I also think the U.S. should make it illegal for foreign countries to give money to universities. And, I'll go out on an even further limb and say we should confiscate those funds and use it to fund research and to pay off existing student loans.

Good point made: 'Discriminatory harassment, targeted threats, and incitement to imminent violence are not covered by free speech protections'. Khali merits little sympathy.

And yet the Capitol hill mob got pardons despite having conducted all these things.

It’s hard to get too worked up about this. America is filled with various brownoids who spew anti-white hatred all the time and far from demanding their removal, if voting and party support are the relevant metrics, American Jews overwhelming support their presence and indeed advocate for the endless importation of more.

I’m sympathetic to Israel and wish it peace and prosperity, but the American political current is running all against it: a Left ever-more dominated by “anticolonialism” (i.e. anti-whitism) and a youthful Right that sees the Israel relationship as a one-way street.

Happy as I am to show old Mahmoud the door, I suspect his deportation indicates the dying convulsions of an old era and not a welcome new precedent.

I completely agree and was more than pissed off at the weasel Kapo Sam Stein last night on Bill Maher's show claiming this was an issue of free speech. He should let his kids try to walk the halls of Columbia with all the anti- semitic rhetoric spewed at them and terrorist Jew hater sympathizers barring them from their classes. This isn't about silencing debate—it’s about national security and preventing the legitimization of people who back terrorist organizations. If someone's words or actions align with groups that seek harm, they have no business being here. A visa is not a Right- it's a privilege! Send Khalil to Gaza.
