What a truly extraordinary man. We are not worthy of gathering up the crumbs under his table.

Wow! What a guy! An example to us all, those of us who report the Nazi Elements of the State and the extreme danger these Nazi Elements now represent once again.

Reminds me of the books Cilka's Journey by Heather Morris here after surviving Auschwitz, Cilka is sentenced to prison in Siberia for being involved with Nazi guards. She as forced to sleep with them, hardly a collaborator.

hat an incredible human being, his story must be shared far and wide.

When you have a heavy metal song written about how great you are (Sabaton:Inmate 4859) then you are indeed one of the greats! As a former Polish official said, Pilecki was a Diamond ❤️ 💎

Solzhenitsyn often said, "One man who stopped lying could bring down a tyranny."

He was so right.

Great example showing that ordinary people are the ones who work hard and win wars while leaders sit behind desks making a few decisions and become the ones who have statues made.

This story also highlights how the left and the right side of politics are potentially tyrannical.

Is it time to change left to “collectivism” and right to “freedom”?

He was one of the first to set off the alarms about the mass gassing of Jews in Auschwitz. After the war Pilecki was marked as an enemy of Communist Poland, executed by the Polish communist government for representing the pro-western Poland in exile. His story is told in the book "The Volunteer" by Jack Fairweather. Another Righteous Polish citizen is Jan Karski, a Polish Underground courier, from 1942 on, provided the Allies and America with the earliest and true accounts of the Holocaust. He delivered evidence about the conditions in the Warsaw Ghetto and the destruction of Jews in the death camps, to FDR, Polish Government-in-Exile and Allies. His pleas fell on deaf ears. After the war he lived in America, became a professor at Georgetown University. His interviews are available on YouTube. He is emotional when he recalls those accounts. There were others, among them Irena Sandler, Wladyslaw Kowalski and Zygmunt Klukowski.
