Thank you for this article. I have not heard of the Hilltop Boys, and find this very disturbing. The government and soldiers have a lot of fronts they are fighting on. Aren't there any organizations that can take on the work of placing adults with these 'gangs'?

This is a topic for Israel to work not the UK or the EU or even the United States. Sounds like a good idea to invest in more security. 🙏

This is a good and balanced article. There is a lot of talk, many articles about the hilltop boys. I think you make some good points. The only thing I’d question from your piece is that you say several times the these boys were put there. I’m not so sure about that. From what I know they mostly put themselves there and it wasn’t a decision made by anyone in public authority. It’s very similar to what boys do in other countries, including western countries when they are disenfranchised for whatever reason. In the case of Israel it has all kinds of other ramifications which are being weaponised by Israel’s enemies. For that reason a solution must be found. But the boys themselves must not get lost in that. Their futures, their wellbeing must be a priority.

I understand the rage of youth having witnessed and known torture. My prayers and heart are with these boys. Labels will not stay their quest for justice in a cruel, darkening world.

Bonding and training search d as nd rescue canines is a great way to build self worth, purposeful and with a team of mentors that have battled similar woes themselves is necessary.

This is the only way... the boy will know who has 'been there....

'professionals ' need not apply unless they too have been

waterboard, or held in captivity, or totally alone in unemding nightmares.

The brightest students in my work have been the 'trouble-makers' yes, the ones with the passion to see through the charade, betrayals and loneliness. ISRAEL has great hearts and minds that will embrace the boys who have lived through what they have and a country in mourning for

so many JEWS. It must be utterly shattering to be growing into manhood aware of the lies, betrayals, and undpeakable monstrous acts ....

my heart is broken to think of them having to be processed rather than mentored and protected. All our children are our children, we are JEWS and the world must understand we have no orphans, they will not make orphans of the children of ISRAEL.
