Israel has had coalition gvts since 1948. After Lebanon. was realized a failure in middle 80s, Begin had integrity to resign

Netanyahu is a corrupt selfish man who put the nations security behind his list for power and efforts to stay out of jail. He is done. He will never have majority

The last Israeli PM who wasn’t corrupt was Itzhak Shamir. The first Israeli politician without lust for power is yet to born. Your side lost, badly. I call it democracy in action.

Well Netanyahu has already collected the most votes. He has done this for many years which shows that the majority of Israelis still think he’s the best man for the job. He is also smooth, sophisticated and gets on with Trump. All very important!! The fault lies with the other centrist parties who would rather see Israel’s demise rather than join with Netanyahu to form a coalition. The biggest problem Netanyahu has is making a coalition with the ultra orthodox who won’t fight in the army. Unfortunately he has had no choice because of the egos of people like Bennet and Lapid. Unfortunately once Trump and or Netanyahu, are gone from power I see another Holocaust on the horizon. Jewish discord and egos caused the destruction of Two temples and the dispersion of the Jews. We can well look forward to this again. We haven’t changed in 5000 years. Just read Josephus.

Zionists, from Likud and Eisenkot’s centrists, need to create a national unity govt. Any other path would be a disaster. Whether you dislike Netenyahu or not, the ultimate goal should NOT be “anyone but BiBi”. This mindset is similar to the self defeating Palestinian aspiration of “River to the sea” in the sense that Palestinians are less interested in developing a viable sovereign state of their own than they are in tearing down the Jewish sovereign state.

Is that the mindset we want to mimic?

I’m disgusted by some of these comments. Badmouthing Bibi instead of Arab parties aligned with Hamas!? Calling him “Satanyahu”!? Do these people not get it?? The enemy isn’t an Israeli war hero! It’s Arab parties who hate their own country (Israel)- the only place in the Middle East where they can have the quality of life they enjoy-and want to destroy it from within! Wake up people!

Disgusted? Don’t be, it’s not worth it. Besides, magnanimity towards the losers - even these losers - often pays off.

Arab parties represent Israelis too.

Wonderful essay, beautifully written.

Wake up, everyone! Not every government takeover is violent. Partnering with politicians who can wait until their vision takes over, is just and, probably more dangerous. Am Yisrael Chai.
