I STAND WITH ISRAEL and the Jewish people. That you do not speaks to your character. That I stand for a tiny religious minority, that wishes to live in a minuscule part of the world yet gives some much back to the world which sometimes treats them abominably speaks to mine.

I stand with Israel 🇮🇱 💯 ❤️. I thank USA and Israel for making the world 🌎 a safer place. Best wishes for the future and hopefully now you can live in peace now the medieval barbaric savage terrorists are eliminated.

G'day Elaine, while we wish for that and while we hope for peace, we should prepare for war. It just seems how the human race is. Cheers , Tony

Yes Anthony i quite agree 👍

I agree with the military effect, but I fear the long-term strategic damage to Israel, due to the libellous — but successful — campaign by the media, academia and far too many politicians to accuse Israel of "genocide" and "war crimes" for defending itself and pursuing Hamas despite civilian casualties (which Hamas seeks).

The next generation of American (and other Western), political leaders is going to be seriously anti-Israel as a result, even more than we see today.

Israel needs to turn its vaunted abilities and skills to a major, major long-term campaign to change these perceptions. I don't know how it can be done; the Israel-hate is now entrenched in the education system from elementary school on up.

Freedom Lover's avatar

I don't think there is anything Israel can do to change these perceptions as long as Western media reports propaganda spread by nefarious Jew hating players in the middle east. And this will not change until the leftist editorial bias of these outlets changes. If it ever does. The lesson for Israel is that it cannot be strategically reliant on any Western nation, including I am sick to say, the United States where the Democratic party has turned very hostile. Israel has taken these lessons and is weaning itself off the need for American weaponry and forming new alliances with nations outside of Western Europe and North America including India and Eastern Europe to name just a few.

David Sherman's avatar

I agree, but will that be enough? What happens when Israeli passport holders aren't allowed to travel to the West, and trade is banned? (Though I imagine arms sales from Israel won't be, as they need our weapons systems.)

It will be harder for other countries to keep hating Israel once the New Middle East fully reveals itself: First with the Iranian people celebrating in the streets and holding American AND Israeli flags, followed by more Abraham Accords being signed and joint Arab-Israeli economic projects getting underway and the world witnessing a shocking but wonderful transformation of the Mideast into one of peace, prosperity and co-existence (modeled after the UAE's transformations). And because Israel will be the main catalyst of all the wonderful changes in the region, and terrorism and war pretty much eliminated, how can the anyone build a case AGAINST Israel? It will look silly. HOWEVER, the Jew Haters will find a way to continue the hate. It will turn to religious differences and slander; that has already begun with Christian "replacement" theorists steeping up their rhetoric and hate (Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson becoming more vile each day). They believe THEY are the true, rightful inheritors of God's covenant with the Jews and the ones who should be in control of Israel (much like Islamists believe today, but instead of Islam overtaking Israel, they believe Christians should). If those haters continue, and/or if the movement grows, I can imagine a day in the future where Israel faces more attacks and calls for destruction of Israel from Western-based countries than from any Muslim country (who will, by that time, be so peacefully integrated with Israel that they will actually DEFEND Israel). A transformed New Middle East, but Jew Hate will never die, it might indeed increase--but not from Muslim countries where it will decrease. It will come from Christian-majority countries. (And of course, we will hear, no matter what, "But what about the Palestinians?)

David Sherman's avatar

Interesting thoughts. Thanks. I hope you're right about the transformation of the Middle east, though the mainstream media will do their best to pretend that's not happening.

Dana Ramos's avatar

I hope I'm right, too--and you are definitely right about the mainstream media. I mean, look how they are ignoring all the good things happening now!

Freedom Lover's avatar

I don't think that will happen. But in any event if wishes were horses beggars would ride as the saying goes. If something can't be done it can't be done.

Although you are correct in your response Israel was always disliked by many countries and its Arab neighbors. The fact that western education systems have become so entrenched in their hatred of Israel has a lot to do with extremely progressive educators who have been heavily financed by the likes of Iran and Qatar. Qatar last year gave US universities over $1.5 billion to have these educators change the minds of the naive and very misinformed Gen Z generation. The Gen Z folks don’t realize they are aiding and abetting in their own destruction through these educators as well as with their DEI crap

David Sherman's avatar

Agreed. But is there any way to reverse this?

Freedom Lover's avatar

Israel should concentrate its efforts on convincing Western governments to shut down Quatari and Iranian propaganda rather than trying to drown it out with its own message.

I agree, Trump will probably be the last pro-Israel president. Fortunately, Bibi has said that within a decade Israel will no longer be dependent on American arms.

I agree! Israel has great patience and planning. Their brilliance reduced this threat by an enormous amount. I salute them and I stand with them.

The actions by the US and Israel are a start. 07Oct2023 is an opportunity, as this article says.

It is only a catastrophe for the Muslims if there is determined follow-up resulting in Muslims out of the US and Muslim capabilities around the world are continually degraded. The Muslim war against the US (and what used to be Europe) is an eternal war.

That is what the Muslims say, what is in their book and commentaries. And in their history and behavior. An eternal war - if you don't like it, if you want to wish it away, then put on your hijabs and bow down. Might as well lean into it.

Short term, agreed this was a catastrophic decision by Hamas with regard to Iran’s desire to eradicate Israel. But the sympathy they garnered all around the world and the resulting wave of antisemitism it brought is an incalculable boon to their cause. Let’s hope that it is short lived, but I think not. Israel must win the PR war that Qatar started decades ago.

“Nuclear threat is gone”. Ballistic missile threat is gone.” “Islamic threat is gone.” “The ayatollah is gone.”

All false assumptions. The straits of Hormuz is in peril forever more. Russia’s ties are still dipped in the ME hatred of the west. So I will use a different analogy. “We will destroy ISIS.” “Islamic factions will be no more.” Victory stand on a great American aircraft carrier. Yes, Operation Barbarossa, just as the attack in Iraq and Afghanistan, was a failure. It has been proven that there is not enough tonnage of TNT to end the regime of anti American and anti Jewish sentiment.

Two generations have learned the Hamas manifesto of death to non believers. All those who mourned the death of the Ayatollah are still there. Putin is still there. And now who stands for Israel and the Jews around the world?

Great summary 👌 thank you.

One comment. You wrote:

"The October 7th attack on Israel, led by Hamas — a terrorist organization funded, armed, and supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran — belongs squarely in the latter category."

Hamas terrorist organization was funded by Qatar, the UN, EU, Iran, Turkey and even the US. Hamas was armed and supported by Iran, China, N. Korea and Egypt.

Hezbollah, Houthis and Hizb Tahrir were also funded, armed and supported by Iran.

All of them were reciprocated in kind by the IDF for their aggression against the State of Israel.

This article should be shared far and wide. It perfectly summarizes the situation in the aftermath of Iran’s decision to green light 10/7. The chickens are now coming home to roost. And an old rule is still very much in force-If you cannot accept the consequences of defeat, do not launch a war.

October 7,2023 completely backfired on Iran big time. They thought it would be the beginning of the end for Israel, but instead it marked the death knell of the islamic republic of Iran and its proxies.

ISRAEL'S MILITARY RESPONSE AFTER A TIME MADE A STATEMENT WE ARE BACK. BUT IN THE LONG RUN NOTHING WAS CHANGED. IN FACT IRAN AND ALL ITS PROXIES LEARNED EVEN AFTER THE HORROR OF OCTOBER 7 ISRAEL POLITICAL LEADERS ARE STILL THE SAME COWARDS THEY HAVE BEEN FOR 50 YEARS. ALLOWING AN ARAB GAZA AND JUDEA AND SAMARIA TO REMAIN. AS LONG AS THEY DO ISRAEL MILITARY ACCOMPLISHMENTS ARE NO MORE THAN A NUISANCE. MY POINT IS THE ENEMY LEARNED NO MATTER HOW EVIL HOW BRUTAL HOW DEADLY THEIR ATTACKS ARE ISRAEL WILL ALLOW THEM THE TO DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. THEY LEARNED IN THEIR WAY OF THINKING A LESSON WORTHY OF ANY LOSSES THEY HAD . ---DUH!!
