Interesting idea. I think this would only work if the U.S. stopped funding the U.N., as well, withdrew from the UN and ordered all the other UN diplomats and spies from all the other member nations to immediately cease operations, evacuate their offices and leave the country. The U.S. will save billions of dollars that it contributes to UN operations and will be able to redirect the money to support allies and projects abroad that it deems in our national interests. In Feb., 1933, the League of Nations moved to condemn the Japanese aggression in Manchuria, the Japanese Ambassador to the League spoke in his country’s defense and then staged a walkout. Japan then gave formal notice of its withdrawal from the League effective March 27, 1933. Two years later, Haile Selassie appeared before the League to beg for help against Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini’ invasion of Abyssinia (today’s Ethiopia). The League did nothing. Today, the UN supports the most vile of the world’s governments and terrorists. No, Israel should not withdraw from the UN, leaving behind seats for the PLO and Hamas, unless the withdrawal is in concert with the U.S. The League died a deserved death. The UN, a corrupt, antidemocratic organization dedicated to the destruction of Israel and the U.S. needs to be closed down before its coming GA opening on Sept. 23., if not sooner.

The UN would collapse. The US pays a quarter of its entire budget.

Yup. Time for the U.S. to stop the charade. Our money goes to support our enemies. Churchill once declared: “better jaw jaw than war war”. In this case, not. Look at UNIFIL in Lebanon: nothing less than an amanuensis of Hezbollah.

Thank you, Nacham! This is a thought-provoking piece that every Israeli should read! Israel should absolutely without hesitation pull out of the United Nations. I’m not quite as anti-UN as Nacham is. The UN does a lot of great humanitarian work around the world no doubt about it. But it is also plagued by corruption and is both anti-Semitic and blatantly biased against Israel and always has been. It needs a massive revamp and Antonio Guterres needs to be pressured into resigning as UN-Secretary General and be succeeded by someone with a brain. But until that time comes, Israel must leave the UN an organization that hates it, and strike out on its own. UN Resolution 3799 which declared that Zionism is a form of racism in 1975 is a blot on the institution’s history. I’m glad that with the U.S.’s help it was revoked in 1991.

But the UN has never issued an official apology for it which they absolutely should. They’ve gotten so much wrong about the Gaza War and had to issue one groveling retraction after another and accepted Hamas numbers hook line and sinker, only to find out what a surprise, they were totally and utterly false. The UN’s independent report declaring Israel guilty of a fake genocide no doubt written by Hamas is a joke and everyone should just ignore it. Nacham is right, if Israel left the UN it would literally mean nothing. It wouldn’t Israel one bit. The ICJ would continue to be irrelevant. I also love his ideas of Israel giving their UN dues to the hostages and the families of IDF soldiers who were killed in action and writing a Security Doctrine of Sovereignty!

All the reasons listed here are why the United States must abandon this disgrace to the very idea of peace. The U.S. alone pays a full 25 percent of the UN operating budget. Without U.S. money the UN would collapse instantly. It can be replaced by a league of free states.

Agree with this article. The UN is a joke when tyrannical regimes are on the Human Rights Council and I believe Israel and the US should wave bye bye to this corrupt body. It's original purpose after World War II has been lost since it has become Tyrant Central. Also, the UN should be run out of Turtle Bay and be moved to, say, Ulan Bator.

It reminds me of the adage: People say "please stop hurting me!" when what they need to do is walk away. I agree with Dr. Price that it would be best if the U.S. and Israel made this a joint exercise. I can't see the benefit of UN membership.
