This is a symptom of a much larger problem in many professions, where professional codes of ethics have been turned on their heads as students are being taught that their primary obligation is to be a social justice activist.
When I searched for a therapist last year on the psych today website I specified that I wanted a woman and “Jewish.” Only 3 professionals were listed out of the entire US. They weren’t Jewish but when I interviewed them they were sensitive to the Jewish plight.

It's more of a "yeah that sucks, and what are you going to do next to make your life better?"
* And finally, there was a change in my perception of global politics and how the U.S. fits into that. I don't want a caliphate or a communist state here or anywhere else. I stand by western values 100%. And the U.S. having hundreds of bases around the world and lots of military might suddenly didn't sound too expensive or too intrusive. I like that we exert our influence around the world and I want us to control keeping things under control.

It just makes me sad that I won’t be around to mentor and develop future engineers in a time when we are really off course and technology substitutes for skill and imagination. There is one exception and that is the work I will do for Israel; I will give the best of what I have left to Israel!
