And there's another aspect of it that doesn't get coverage because we don't have good data on it other than anecdotal stories: Jewish people who have been forced to find new therapists because their therapist decided to lecture them about Israel and Gaza after the client opened up about their antisemitism-related stress or anxiety.
This is a symptom of a much larger problem in many professions, where professional codes of ethics have been turned on their heads as students are being taught that their primary obligation is to be a social justice activist.
When I searched for a therapist last year on the psych today website I specified that I wanted a woman and “Jewish.” Only 3 professionals were listed out of the entire US. They weren’t Jewish but when I interviewed them they were sensitive to the Jewish plight.

I’m not dismissing real concerns but the article as a whole was a bit of a downer until the end when it became a bit more upbeat because it hinted at the solution which is to embrace Judaism more and not to behave as non-Jews want you to behave I.e. to be constantly on the back foot instead of the front and to react with flight instead of fight. It just makes me sad that I won’t be around to mentor and develop future engineers in a time when we are really off course and technology substitutes for skill and imagination. There is one exception and that is the work I will do for Israel; I will give the best of what I have left to Israel!
