Bend the Arc focuses on social issues in the US and tends not to comment on foreign policy issues and has not accused Israel of genocide. I say this as a person who actively supports Israel and is not sympathetic with leftists or with "social justice" activists. Organizations such as Jewish Voice for Peace and If Not Now are anti-Israel and are despicable from my point of view. On the other hand, groups like Tru'ah are fuzzy-headed idealists who are wrong but not despicable. The statements I read from Steven Spielberg have been pretty supportive of Israel and of Jews, while decrying the killing of innocents in Gaza. For me, at a time when Israel and Jews are being villified for deaths in Gaza, I find it hard to be as sympathetic with the "innocents" in Gaza, but perhaps, Spielberg is a better human being than me.

It took quite a deep, long and reflective process for me to convert. I had to examine the values that directed my life and put them up against the values that the LDS Church preached. I couldn’t find any contradiction between what I held to be true and what the LDS Church said was true.
If I was younger (i’ll be 74 in a month) I would, in a heart beat, go to Israel and join the IDF.
What i’ve learned is that true principle never change. And that the true principles the LDS Church preaches are no different than the true principle put forth in the Old Testament. It was the Christian texts of the Nee Testament and the Book of Mormon that educated me as to how to understand The Old Testament. As a result, I am informed, now, in a complete way because I know that the battle we fight today is, finally, a spiritual battle. And the horrible things that have been perpetrated upon the Jews throughout the ages has always been part of a spiritual battle that transcends the earthly battle. If we’re going to go to battle for the Good understanding what this battle is really about is critical.
Understanding the fit between the Old Testament, the New Testament and the Book of Mormon is the one piece of perfection I have in my life.
