To some Jews and others wringing their hands over the deaths of “innocent Palestinians” during the raid on Nuseirat I have a message: Grow a backbone! These so-called innocent Palestinians were among the terrorists on October 7th or were sympathizers. Make no mistake. These Palestinians would slit your throat if given a chance.

Jews should never apologize for collateral damage when Jewish lives are at stake. The message needs to be if you don’t want “innocent Palestinians“ killed, don’t kidnap Jews. We will protect our own and world opinion can go to hell.

So true your statement.

Good points are made in this article, but personally I agree with Alan: we should not feel apologetic for collateral damage: I always say, "You don't like the results of a battle with Israel? don't start a war with Israel." Simple. Yes, world opinion can go to hell. Exactly. I don't care what you call me; I'm in war mode and I'm not going to be empathetic to the enemy, which happens to be barbaric.

If it happened today Adi Amin would be celebrated as a freedom fighter by the left and Vance would be telling Israeli to just let it go.

A year ago, my mother was expressing sorrow about the deaths of "innocent Palestinians." I asked my mother, who was old enough to remember World War 2 very well, how much time she had spent worrying about the deaths of innocent Germans. She replied, "not one second." I don't want to seem completely heartless; I certainly don't celebrate the deaths of innocents. But how many of those accusing Israel of "genocide," would accuse the USSR of genocide for the deaths of 135,000 civilians in Berlin, not to mention the massive destruction of the city? The Guardian, CNN, the BBC have developed a set of humanitarian standards unique in the annals of warfare.

Excellent essay. You nailed it...What a world we live in where barbarians are progressive "resistance".

"The Jewish state was created because Jewish history had demonstrated, catastrophically, what happens when Jews lack both sovereignty and the means to defend ourselves." Agree totally and Israel should never have any doubts or qualms when it comes to rescuing its citizens or fighting for survival. As to Yonatan Netanyahu, RIP. Know Bibi thinks of him often.

Going with Palestinian propaganda is just an excuse to spout Jew hatred. No one would believe that terrorists are freedom fighters unless the victims are Jews.

An excellent essay about our upside-down world 🌎

"October 7th was not an aberration, but the logical expression of an ideology that had always regarded Jewish life as expendable."

Labelling Jewish life as merely expendable diminishes the motivation driving the never ending slaughter of Jews — that it is a religious requirement as mandated by

Surah al-Ma'idah 5:44: And whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the disbelievers.

Surah Muhammed (47:4): when you meet the disbelievers ˹in battle˺, strike ˹their˺ necks until you have thoroughly subdued them.

Sahihal-Bukhari 2926 (56:94): "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."

Thank you for the resource.

They say Islam is the religion of peace but Arab word Islam means "Submission" or "Surrender" to the will of Allah, whose will, of course, according to Surah Muhammed (47:4): "when you meet the disbelievers ˹in battle˺, strike ˹their˺ necks until you have thoroughly subdued them". And when are you in a battle with disbelievers? Surah At-Tawbah (9:29): "Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day" says it all.

The day after October 7th, Netflix was promoting a documentary about Gaza being an open air prison, I didn’t watch it but it must have been produced years before, the propaganda started a long time ago.

It’s a sad commentary on western media, that consistently confuses perpetrators for victims and aggressors for defenders.

50 years ago was also my introduction to the pace of the Israeli news cycle. I arrived in Israel July 6, 1976 as a new immigrant. I expected that Israelis would still be ecstatic about the Entebbe rescue. But by the time I arrived (a mere 48 hours later), everyone had moved on to the next thing.

Material for the epic novel, “The Brothers Netanyahu: A Tale of two Rescues”. Early critical acclaim: “It did not happen in a vacuum. It happened in a moral decline,” Murtadd to Human.

It is very simple. Unlike our "cousins" we never finish the job, never annex gaza and lebanon, never throw out our "cousins" who do not like living in the Jswish country, any more then we like living in a Muslim one, and we neither look or act Jewish, so the world sees the hypocrisy and conplains. If Itamar ben gvir was in charge for example, things would be very different

Saving Jewish lives has a long history of an apology. This is what makes the Antisemites excel.

Thomas Braun's avatar

Cant understand what you wrote.

Paul B. Cohen's avatar

I think she’s saying that Jews have historically tried to explain actions that require no justification, feeding the animus of antisemites who despise such weakness.

Suzanna Eibuszyc's avatar

Really? History has shown that throughout the ages, Jewish people have been expected to apologize for their very existence. This dynamic is precisely what allows antisemitism to thrive.

Another fact the "world" forgets: If the Gazans would have released the hostages, the war would have ended immediately. Netanyahu said it nearly every day: "Release the hostages, and it will all end today." All the destruction and death--ALL of it would have ended immediately, from the very first day. Instead, even as the Gazans suffered and screamed "genocide" against Israel--they would NOT release the hostages, not even the babies and children. I'll also point out again that those hostages that were rescued were being held in CIVILIAN homes/apartments, just as Hamas embedded weapons and soldiers in civilian infrastructure like schools and hospitals.

I don't recall reading that any western countries were wringing their hands and talking about proportionality when the allies firebombed Dresden and Cologne which incinerated 50,000 civilians, or the total destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki resulting in 250,000 dead. The thought that Jews can defend themselves and fight back scares the devil out of the Jew haters.

... as I pointed out here ( https://drlotharriemenschneider.substack.com/p/kill-mamdami-before-he-kills-you ), Idi Amin IS celebrated as a "freedom fighter", by a "Mayor of New York" and his family who got elected a.o. by a significant amount of NYC Jews. It appears that not only but also many Jews refuse to know who Mamdami is and his fans are, just like hordes of "Israel Critics" don´t (want to) know anything about Judaism, Jews, Jewish History and Israel, but nevertheless claim being able and rightful to "judge".

And two of the terrorists weren´t "Old Nazis" but young Germans, deluded by "Socialism" and Arafat, just as "Socialists" not only in Germany had been antisemitic Jew Haters before 1933 shouting just the same vitriolic speech as Hitler; Germany refused - at least "officially" - to take part in helping Israel, four years after the Munich Olympic Massacre.
