The appropriation of Anne Frank as a symbol of universalism (or even, of Palestinianism -- I've seen signs and graffiti online of her wearing a keffiyah) is the next step in the strip-mining of Jewish identity by antisemites, where everything meaningful or good about Jewish identity is made "universal" leaving the Jews with nothing of our own, enabling our portrayal as cultural parasites.

That said, the universalising of Anne Frank began with the publication of her diary, which had overtly Jewish and Zionist passages removed by her father and the publisher, out of fear that non-Jews would find them too alienating.

I believe it’s more of a punch in the face to Jews. It’s deliberately antagonistic & those using images of the dear girl are lower than a gnats bollocks! They are disgusting 🤢. I’m not even Jewish and it makes me so angry that these fucktards desecrate the memory of Ann Frank🤬
